Trollstigen - the "Troll Ladder" is a dramatic and exciting experience. The road twists through 11 hairpin bends as it climbs up to Stigrøra (858 metres above sea level). In some places it is cut into the mountain; in others it is built on top of stone walls. An impressive bridge in natural stone carries it across the Stigfossen waterfall. At the top there is a viewpoint, restaurant and the Trollstigen Road Museum exhibiting photos, models and hand tools from its construction.
The road is closed in the winter and normally opens in late May or early June.

11 Hours ride compressed to three minutes.

I would guess from the snow I saw on the top of the mountain, that it is still a little cool at the top.  Another great video Dag of the beautiful Norwegian countryside.  Thanks for sharing.........

No, the temperature was 67F at the highest point, and 73F at sea level.
A great day for riding

I was actually a little disappointed with the video today. I have bought a new camera (Contour 1080P) Full HD. It is a helmet camera, but I mounted it on the bike.

Before we began the climb up Trollstigen I stopped and I turned on the camera.
When we got on top and stopped I saw there was a damage on the camera, it had touched the road.
Hmmm .. OK, that's not so bad. It is certainly a nice effect on the video.

When I came home and was editing video I discover that the memory chip is empty. There are no videos on the chip.  tickedoff

Fortunately I remembered to record video with the old camera that's always mounted on the bike.  Undecided

Did you just forget to turn it on Dag?  I've ground down a mount on my contour  720 as well.

With the 1080i it eats memory like candy.  An 8gb card won't last a battery charge and less then 4hrs of riding (more like 3.5hrs).  A 16gb is the way to go.

I'm going to modify a usb cable this week to see if it will charge/record like the 12v adapter.

The video is really nice.  Great ride report.

Ride safe.
