OK Valkyrie mechanical brain trusts: I've go auxiliary lights that have quit functioning. They worked fine when last I rode a week ago, but did not work yesterday.

I have power through the 10 amp fuse to the switch, continuity through the switch, a good ground, as near as my multi-tester can tell and no lights. The old switch shows no power through it, so I pulled it out to replace it with a new water-proof switch and still no lights. Both switches test good.

What have I missed and overlooked. The blue hairs in Florida seem to respond to the lights working and I feel more comfortable with them working. And some electrical puzzles make me crazier than I already am.

Suggestions anyone?

Check power thru the switch.
Check power at the socket.

If you have power it must be the bulbs or ground

You didn't mention anything about your relay.

ya beat me to the relay..........

NO relay, it could put a black dent in your starter circuit.

If it looks like the above, you need one of these.

You have to move the red wire to match the Valk.  This unit, it for a Gold Wing and saves all the hassle of changing out the COMPLETE wiring in your ride.

It may be good enough to indicate on the meter, but not good enough to illuminate the bulb.  You mentioned that it quit working while riding, that may indicate that a bump knocked something loose.

Your lights are probably mounted to the front fork.  I had to run a ground wire from the fork to the frame.  The ground throught the bearings sometimes  is not good enough.

Did you check the bulbs?  If they are the 30 watt sealed beams they don't last forever, and it is very possible that both could be out at once.  I know this because mine were once.  Hoser

I have the same problem, could be both lights are out. Where can I pick up new Running lights, sometimes called Fog lights, or Auxillary lights for my 00' Interstate?
