Or that's what he told me.  I was filling up somewhere in Montana when a man appeared from the next pump.  He said "You're making me cry.  I had to leave mine at home."  He and his family were in a cage, with just cause, family memorial to go to.

Turns out he's from Cody, WY, which is where I was last night, and he had seen many of the other Motor Maids riding around town in groups.  If he'd seen me, he surely would have recognized the Valk.

I told him about VRCC, and congratulated him on his choice of bike -- a '98 Standard in Fast Black.

Maybe he'll show up here one of these days ....

Last time I made a man cry was about 1994.   I bought a 94 Harley with a chair on it, thought that was what I wanted solo1, inside joke here.

Every year we (American Legion Post) would go down to the Vet's Hospital in Knoxville and take Vet's for a ride.......     I got this VERY VERY frail gentleman in my chair and we took a ride around the parking lot like the rest of them.

They lifted him out of the chair and he was crying.   Worried that I had hurt him, he was frail trust me, and he said no, it reminded him of his very 1st ride ever, and it was with his dad on a motor with a chair.

I wiped my brow, and took another gentleman.  We kept this up till everyone who wanted a ride got it.

The following year, we got there, I went in and asked for this guy so I could give him another ride, he made me cry, he had told his nurses he was looking forward to another ride this year........     Here is the part than make me cry, he passed away 10 days before we showed up...........

Several of us gave our cards to the Nurses, and told them IF, anyone stated they wanted a ride and if the Nurse didn't think they could make it till our annual date to call one of us.  We would come down and see that they got a ride.

In the past 14 years, we have been called 3 times, and the patient got their ride(s).   Usually 3 to 6 of us showed up and they got a ride on or in every motor they wanted to......
