We're not going!  Cry

Told Connie at the CBR that I would be there. Our 1st one also. Took the weekend off and planed on going up friday. Kit gets fired in early June so we have had to cut out some rallies as I help her with her bills. Cutting out IZX and a big rally in Ohio in 2 weeks. Been looking forward to all of these since last year. We will make up for it in 23 days. Nothing will keep us from that.  Evil

Money...

This is the 10th year in a row that I've been reading the stories from everyone who's at Inzane...

I was gonna do it this year, but part of the deal I cut with the spousal unit was, in order for me to have a chance to do a ride to Prudhoe Bay next summer, most planned trips between now and then had to be cut...

Wish I could have made it too.....BUT....I took the Wife Unit on a much needed vacation back in early June....I would have had to take another week off to make Inzane and that would have almost wiped my vac time out....I like to keep a "little" in the bank.....I build my 3 weeks up as I go along through the year....the wife, who works for a bank, gets her 3 weeks at the start of the year...and they make her take at least one week off at once for mandatory audits.....

Starting next March, I'll have 15 yrs in at my job and then I'll get 18 days vac instead of 15 .... cooldude

I'll be trying to stay one step ahead of the LAW in Cabinda, Angola Africa starting Saturday.

But I will get to check out the Batwings in case I decide to go that route in the future.

My good bud and trainee at work Matt, wanted this week so he and the spouse could go to the Boogie. There are only the two maintenance people at the plant, he and I. One of us has to be there dang-it.

I'm leaving Friday for a 17 day trip from New Jersey to the Canadian Rockies (Jasper,Banff etc..) with my cousin on his HD Road King. This was the only time period my wife said was good on her schedule(she works..I don't). So I'll make the best of it even though it negated a trip to Inzane this year. I've made the last 2 Inzanes and hope to start another streak next year.

Just not in the cards for me. Not to mention as a crow flies... probably furthest away from any of them to date. First few years in a job with seasonal demands... had to make hay while the sun was shining (June-July-August). Last several years... bean counter for the company. Lots of "stuff" going on... before - during - after... the new fiscal  year (July 1st.).   15% pay cut the past year and a half doesn't help any. Awnuld the Govenator can't figure out how to use a calculator... so his pawns are currently working for minimum wage so he can afford to pay out social services along with every other State funded program. Nearly 36 years later... I'm working for a tad bit an hour more today than I was back in the beginning... just so the slackers don't have to get up off the couch. If the annual Valk summit still exists in the year 13, hopefully I'll make it. I plan to yank the plug from the wall of this house of cards in fall of year 12. Long live the Vrcc! sheets  tickedoff cooldude

Had planned on this being my first IZ.. looking forward to meeting some folks face to face but...
Things not going well at home...  headed to divorce and unless I wanted to come home to completely empty house and losing ALL my stuff I didn't take with me,  I thought it best not to leave. I could tolerate most things,  but not losing my bike or my dog...   There is always next year when things will be better....

My work closes it's doors on Dec 31.  I'm scheduled to work every day until then.  Have worked almost every day since last August.  Even Christmas.  I retire then so I'll have a life next year.

Wanted to go to the last few. Have only made the first one so far. trying to pay for a 1963 40' Marinette Catamaran that I found at Grafton, IL Marina and have been living on since last August....after a 600mi trip down the Mississippi, up the Ohio, the Tennessee, the Cumberland and tied up on the Cordell Hull lake. Maybe next year.... 97k on the VALKRYIE and have not ridden much in the last couple years.

Right now... I am waiting on the mailman, and the UPS man.  One has speakers for the IS, the other has a front tire for it.

I signed up last winter, as soon as it was announced.

In the last couple of months, I've been on five multiday out-of-state rides and numerous all day
rides to cool places... InZane would have been six or seven days gone for me... I like having fun, but I'd
like to have some fun with, uh, what's-her-name... yeah... Carolyn  Wink

Chicago Ride For Kids is the weekend, July 18th.  Have been working on this one day event for 10 months, so I need to be here.  Plus, I have a special passenger on my bike this Sunday.  She had her brain tumor at age 2, she is now 17. She expects me to be there also and I won't let her down.

Hope everyone has a good time.

I grew up in MI, and planned to go since it was announced.  But I have had some juvenile delinquency issues in my neighborhood, including the thugs breaking into unoccupied homes.  I could not get anyone to house sit or keep a close eye on the home during Inzane time period.  Cops are useless for juvenile issues, and I am constrained from sniping them off the streets with a .308.  And the cost was prohibitive on my meager pension.

Planned on going in 2006 - had reservations at ground zero, registration, etc.  Then the company I was working for went bankrupt.  No vacation available for 2007 at new company - started a new business in 2008. Working in 2009.  Business went bust earlier this year so no money to go 2010.  Maybe next year........

I think the db401's should be a drop in.  I don't have them yet anyway, and will be lucky to get them tomorrow, and I'm leaving Friday Morning.  The SO might have to live with ONE rear speaker for this trip.

I am waiting on a new front tire too, that's SUPPOSED to be here tomorrow, so I can have it mounted and balanced for Friday Morning departure.  I sure hope it comes earlier, rather than later.

If not... I can swap front wheels from my Standard to the IS... or just suck it up and ride on the Kenda rear, even though I don't really LIKE it.
