resetting the clock
«

I've done it several times before but this time it refuses to cooperate. I push the proper button, it flashes on the display but nothing happens when I try to reset with other controls. BTW 01 interstate.

Your switch might be dirty. Does it operate the other functions (volume up and down)?

raido works fine. I've had this problem before and it magically started working after about the fourth try at resetting it. But not so this time. I'm chicken at taking something like this apart from past experience. It seems little microsopic springs are hinding inside things I take apart and jump put all over the place.

P.D. is asking specifically if the volume control switch is working. You did not directly answer that question. So I'll ask you again.
Does the volume control switch raise and lower the volume?
You must understand that if the volume control switch still raises and lowers the volume, your problem then is
not
with the switch.

using electrical spay cleaner(contact cleaner), you need not take the switch apart.
just leave the bike turned off, spray into each switch, vigorously work the switches up and down a few times.
let it set for a while (to let everything evaporate) start and try all the controls. depending on how dirty they are
repeat.
worked for me and friends bike.

Try resetting the clock while the radio is on.
