Well this Wednesday, I ride to work aboard "The Quickening" for the last time. It was a good run, met some great people, made some lasting friends, saw incredible sights, and invented Highlander Time. I will be leaving my trusty steed at a Ford Dealer, and pick up Our new steed -- a 2009 Ford Mustang Convertible -- same color as the Bike, and we can still enjoy the wind in our face. I don't have anywhere to ride, nothing else to prove, and that knee that was in eight pieces 10 years ago will get a well deserved rest. I have no regrets. In this way, Cheryl has a new car, [her van has 200,000 miles] and we can still share he road and meet up with our friends. It's all good. Thank you VRCC. It has been a great ride, and I cannot forget you and the impact you have had on my life. Bless each and every one of you. Highlander

Bill, Your name came up many times in conversation this past InZane.... a legend, maybe even in hushed tones at times... Remember my comments to you years ago, you really needed to put together your short stories and publish them, as I am sure that you would join the ranks of the published authors amongst our few, and others who have that sort of talent, even if you do not believe it... You have a talent there you should not let lie dormant. In any event, please do not be a stranger, and when you can, stop by and see us at any of our gatherings. You know you and Cheryl have an open invitation. Smooth sailing buddy.... happy trails.... Paul (hoosier daddy) Weber #370, Indiana State Rep.

Bill, if we do another ACD ride, I would hope that you and Cheryl could make it in your Mustang, you'd be welcome. Gee, maybe we could start a special division within the VRCC, called the Post Valkyrie Convertible and Roadster Riders, PVC&RR. C'mon, jes kiddin', Staff. Wayne

Congratulations on the new purchase. I'm sure you and Cheryl will enjoy it. Can't wait to hear the story about your first citation driving it.

This is something I was hoping I would not read for many more years. Although I concider all VRCC as friends, there are few I felt close to. Bill you are one of them, and I am sorry that there will be no more "Quickining" I hope that even though you won't be on 2 wheels, that you still stay around and even come to some of the events in 4 wheels. We will reserve special spots for you, Solo1, and anyone else that has a change in transportation modes. Even that old codger RJ, if he can't come on 2 or 3 wheels, he can come with what ever way he can. Take care of yourself, and hope to see you down the road. Steve

Thanks eeryone. AsmI said there were many special people here. The trade was for 4500. I take it to the far dealer Friday now. Will ask what he will sell it for and get back to you. I still have hardbags and who knows what else that I will gather up and sell as a bulk buy on the classifieds lster. Friday will be a very emotional day for me. Paul, I may write those memories yet. Capt., it was a pleasure sharing the wind with you. You were all there when I needed you the most. You somehow kept me alive until Cheryl came into my path. I paid the price, but I would not rade anything for the lasting friendships. Bi Al of MD, That Washington trip was great, and you are one special human being. Someday, when I do write the memoirs, all of you will have a special mention. What a ride it was. Who knows, maybe Honda will recreate another Valkyrie. Just a plain old Valkyrie -- maxed out horsepower and torque, and just a plain jane motorcycle look. Then we can customize our rides to suit our personalities and show the worls another cruizer of the decade. Again, I sincerely thank each and every one of you for being brothers and sisters who care. I know the feeling. Its hip though, not knee. I'm kinda new here and as of yet really havent met anyone face to face. Consider the members part of my extended family and offers for a place to stay in the desert are real. Convertable is good. Come back and say Hi every now and again. Burn out in fronta a cop,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,PRICELESS.

Sorry to here this Bill, but I do understand. You and Cheryl mean a lot to Carolyn and I. Please don't be a stranger and Tell Cheryl we love her. I do look forward to seeing you two again. Wayne (Solo1) came to Inzane 10 in his car and had a great time. I'll bet someone would let you ride their bike on some of the rides. This club is more than bikes, it's a big extended family. May God bless the both of you.
