This is a bit emotional for my wife, she knows this may well be one of the last trips she's able to take...barring a medical breakthrough. She's been with her two remaining sisters for the last couple weeks....which are also the last remaining members of her family of 11 bros. and sisters, including herself. We have 1,000 miles to go and will take most of three days to cover it, traveling by any means is difficult and painful for her but she was determined to see me attend IZ and get a break.

Prior to about ten yrs. ago, we traveled extensively so there are many pictures and memories of those adventures. I'm not complaining, just thankful for the years and miss having her with me.

John it was very nice talking to you as we sat on the balcony.  I most certainly have empathy with you as I went through something similar.

I'm glad that you were able to make the trip to Columbus with your wife.  It gives you more memories to share with each other as both of you go through your most difficult times.

My prayer goes out to both of you from here in New Haven.

John, your Guardian Angel is headed your way for the trip home.   My compliments.  Just don't drive faster than she can fly. Evil

You 2 will be included on our prayer list at church tonight.

As a Church elder, it is my night to watch overthings.

John, it was good seeing you again at InZane last week. I hope you have a good/safe trip home.  Hope to see you again sometime down the road.

Thanks to all. We did take nearly three full days, covering a bit over 300 miles/day with many, many stops along the way. I watched my "navigator" carefully, I've learned to tell when she's had enough for one day and usually would pull off for the night around 3:30-4:00pm. Traveling like that is tiresome for the driver as well, but I got plenty of rest along the way. The only scare we had actually was me. Last night, Saturday, in the motel not far from Savannah, GA I had a sudden attack of what felt like a kidney stone. Very intense pain and instantly violently sick. She was scared to death...strange place, no hospital near by, etc.  While hugging the commode, I simply prayed to let me get her home first, then let happen what will. Literally within minutes, the pain was gone and I was no longer nauseaous. The rest of the night and today I've felt absolutely normal.

As for my travel plans following InZane, they were cut short. She was having some difficulty but refused medical service(still very stubborn). As a result, I headed back to Columbus instead of going on to Wisconsin and Minn. to see family. I was kinda raked over the coals for that decision by other family members, which stung more than a little bit, but my sweetie comes first.

Here's hoping I see you all again at another InZane in the future.
