This hot, humid crap is for equatorial people!  Holy CRAP!  93F and a 75F dew point here right now.  I need to air condition the garage... or move the valk into the air conditioned guest room (in the garage).  I did build it with a 42" door so the valks would fit in there. angel Evil

I want to work on the handlebars on the IS, but Jeeze-O-Pete!!

I don't know how you Florida/Lousiana/Texas/Mississippi/Alabama etc people survive!  I swear I am about ready to move to Canada, or the UP or Oregon or Alaska.

I can't walk 30 feet to the mailbox without a towel and a water bottle.

The bike stays parked alot more in the summer.  Sometimes, it's like riding in a sauna.....a really really hot sauna.  The truck has a/c.  The only thing that stops me in the winter is if it's in the 30's or lower, or if it's raining......don't like riding in the rain.

AHH YES! To live on the equator! cooldude
That's something I just dream about. Here in Ocala we are at Latitude 29 & that's the furthest north I've ever lived...... I can't wait for my chance to move back south. Shocked After this last winter we had I'm ready!
As far as the heat I don't even notice it. Just drink a lot of fluids & keep moving. Our swimming pool temp has been at 94* for the last month or so.  Cool
Summertime is the best time for riding except for the almost daily torrential downpours. At least IMO!  cooldude
It's all what you are used to I guess.  coolsmiley

I'm with you Eddie, the hotter the better. I try to melt off my skin cancer Grin We have been leaving a little earlier and seeing sunrises instead of sunsets. I really don't think it matters, right now it's hot & hotter. Mad-Beach Florida (intracoastal side, sunrise)

Indian Rocks Beach Sunset

When I gotta bust out the blue jean jacket and "thin deerskin" riding gloves, I know winter is here. I could think of a few worse places to live...riding wise.

Serious "cold weather" riding gear Grin

Wonderful thing about America... we all don't have to agree.  I am glad there are guys like ya'll that like that hot...

I was stationed in Orlando when I was in the Navy for a couple years... Boot camp, A-School and Nuclear Power School.  It was awful.  My Mom-In-Law lives in Spring Hill, and it seems a little nicer than Orlando was.  I was stationed in Pearl Harbor, and I didn't like it there either.  I'd like San Fransisco... if it was all full of granola like it is.

I liked up state New York while I was up there.  I have a buddy that lives in Key West, and I keep trying to get there to go fishing with him... but just can never get it together.

Florida would be OK for me if I could leave when it's over 85, and go to Maine or Alaska.

And Tundra... you ain't got the FAT thang goin' on either.  Skinny guys like you are SUPPOSED to like the HOT.  100 lb women like the hot too.  Not tryin' to imply anything, after all... I am a ... ginger?

I here ya. All my tattoo ink was running today! I think it was hotter at Bardstown tho. Its a little after 8p here and its still 89 deg. Really hot and humid today. Heat advisory today at 95 but with heat index it was 104. Windy also so its like fanning a oven door at ya. Cant wait to head west in 12 days. At least when its 100 there is no humidity. My HD bud is headed to Glacier Park in MT tonight. I should have rode with him. Never been to hot for me to ride.

I'm with you Jabba. I'm 5'9" and about 300. Where I live in Texas isn't bad with the high altitude and low humidity (check weather.com for 79065), but I have been working a lot in southern parts of Texas for the past month...riding there. I bought a 2002 Hyundai (SP?) yesterday to drive down there the rest of the summer because it has A/C. I was dying on the rides down there and back. Cheesy

You think that's bad, you should have been here about 10 pm.  Temp was in the low 80s with a heat index of 101.  I know exactly what BF is talking about.  We live a couple of hours apart.  Sandman hasn't moved in a month cause it's just too miserable to ride.  Of course, living in the rainiest part of the country doesn't help.  Seattle may have more days of rain but the Mobile, AL area has more inches.  Being of English, Welsh, Irish and Scandinavian heritage, I don't deal with hot weather real well either.

It's supposed to be close to 100* here in North AL today, but RonK and I are going to meet up early and get in some miles this morning before the heat gets unbearable.  Like Jabba, I can ride in the heat. It's the stopping that kills ya.

As a more robust sized individual, I enjoy the heat.  Doesn't get too hot to ride.  The big girl puts out a lot more heat than my VTX though.  So over 95, the X is the way to go.  It does get too cold to ride.  Under 60 and the bikes are put up.  Even lived two years in Fairbanks Ak.  Really hated that.  Air Force assignment.  Get a BIG fan and point it at the bike and go to work on it.  Also after midnight is better in the garage.  Second shift work rules.

I read somewhere that red haired people will be extinct in no time at all. Something about dominant genes etc...............

So enjoy that Red Hair and the heat, you are a classic.

Here in good ole North Alabama, it was 100 degrees yesterday and 101 today.  I got out and rode yesterday for a couple of hours and it was a little warm.  I haven't ridden at all since November and I'm heading to Sturgis in a couple of weeks, so I've got to get my warm weather legs under me.  Haven't ridden today, but been outside all day working on my trailer and bike.  Got the windshield off and my new one should be here Monday, so not sure if I'm going to put the old one back on to ride either today or tomorrow.  6'1" & 265 lbs. does not a cool man make in this kind of weather!

Jabba,

I feel your pain!!  What gets me is when those people from the south rub your face with “how great the weather is down here!” in the middle of January!  Or, my brother that calls every November complaining that he’s sick of wearing sunglasses all year round (he lives in phoenix), and we haven’t seen the sun in 6 weeks straight!!

Then for the two to three months that it’s above 112* in phoenix, they try and compare it with the 6 months of winter we’ll get!!

I remember one year it was below zero for 20 days straight, that was the “high” temperature, then it got to be 36* for three days, then back into the below zero for a high for 17 days straight again!!!

Personally, I’ll take the heat and humidity over the below zero crap any day!!

Surely that's a typo!!! I rode to work at 14 degrees one day.
LOL, stopped on the way home one morning to get gas...think
it was in the low-mid 20's. Standing in line to buy a lottery
ticket and someone touched my arm. I turned around and it was
a woman...mid 60's?..and she said "Bless your heart! Is your car
tore up?" I laughed and said "Nope! I bought that thing to ride it!!"
She just shook her head. uglystupid2

I rode 14 miles to work once when it was 19 out.  and I rode 100 miles FOR work once when it was 23 out.

My car was tore up BOTH times.  tickedoff

I'll ride down to about 40 with no trouble.  I might ride colder than that now with the IS.  We'll see how it works out.  I hope so.
