out there driving my truck I listen to alot of talk radio. now before I get accused of being a right-wing, racist, homophobic, sexist, bible-thumping, gun-toting, wife-beating, nascar watcher,  I'd like to say thats wrong I don't watch nascar.  Evil  name calling won't shut me up anymore.

to be fair and open minded I listen to liberal talk (ok they call it progressive talk) whenever I can find it, the free market rules apply even to liberal talk they have to be near a largish population of other liberals before the format becomes viable.

both sides say the other is out of touch with the people, that the other side is a bunch of elitists.
both sides accuse the other of having an echo chamber, of having blind media bias. there are a few other things that escape me right now.

by listening to both sides it doesn't take long to figure out which side has the truth, and which is blowing smoke.

now both sides do carry water for thier respective parties but the right will drop support for members of thier party that screw up, while the left will circle the wagons

time for me to stop rambling and get off the soap box Embarrassed

We just have to start electing leaders and representatives instead of worthless, scum sucking, money hungry politicians! If they affiliate them selves with a political party they are politicians and probably TOTALLY WORTHLESS ! !

True but will not happen. Two cases in recent Gubanatorial races, AL and GA. Former Chief Justice, Judge Roy Moore ran for Gov of AL. Didn't take PAC money so couldn't afford air time. Had the largest volunteer organization of any candidate. Made speeches all over the state. Probably more than anyone else. Can quote the Declaration, the Constitution and most amendments, the Bible more than most preachers, military sevice (Vietnam Capt.). Didn't stand a real chance cause of big money TV ads. The people would not put their money on the line, special interest did.

Ray McBerry from GA. Pretty much the same story. Full field of candidates, about 4 or 5th place in governors race. Had thousands of volunteers, won every debate, lots of endorsements, boils down to money for TV ads. He probably could have sat home, played dozens of ads the week before the election and could've had a shot. But refused to take PAC money.

I wonder how many people of character have been elected, and been corrupted by the toxic atmosphere of D.C.? ever think we should move our capital to say land between oklahoma and texas? throw a 16' cyclone fence with concertina wire up just to keep ALL special intrest out including the NRA. I'm willing to see all lobbists kept away from our lawmakers including ones I'm sympathetic too.

Wasn't it in CA a few years back when an incumbent ran ads saying
his opponent is a nice guy and didn't need to be sent to DC so he
would be corrupted? "Send me back, I'm already corrupt"!! And
he got re-elected!!!! Pretty sure I'm remembering that right. uglystupid2

I'm sorry, and all the you folks in this post seem to be saying that the American public is too stupid to pick the right candidate... mainly because you all have an incredibly negative view of our elected representatives.

I say that the public is much better informed than you give them credit for... and they are mostly sick and tired of extremists from either the left or right... they want balance... predictability... that's what makes things go.

Perhaps you and I could practice that quote a bit more in the future?  Hoser

How about some political accountability, integrity, and maybe to manage this country  honestly and ethically.

I see only one viable option to possibly make that happen........... Term limits.
Not a perfect solution but I don't think it would be any worse than what we have now. tickedoff

When I'm elected...the FIRST thing I'll do is....2 term limit Senate
3 term limit Congress!! And no more receiving a paycheck until
the day you die!!! After you're out of office, you're out of a job!!!
Most of them are rich before they get elected.
