Hail to the king baby!

Wanted to let you know I had a great Saturday. Getting up at 5:20 to shower and head to Lowe's to buy that pump I forgot to buy Friday. Glad they opened at 6. Then a brisk 45 mile ride to the rest area where we put  up camp. God sure gave me a beautiful sunrise to view.  BTW, I did mean a brisk ride, me and the bike really enjoyed our sprint to the rest area.
At the rest stop, our group from work, put up our rip-off MASH rest stop for the 150 mile bike ride for the MS ride. Several got into character, we had a great Klinger, a super Father McCahey, and Rosie. I had a mechanics coveralls that let me be Rizzo.  We had several cars stop just to take pictures and any rider that stopped had a good laugh. We received lots of compliments. But doing something fun for a good cause always makes the heart seem lighter.
After all was put up, I rode into Pampa and visited my mom for awhile. Had a good visit, then headed back to Amarillo. I filled up in Pampa and headed west. Again the road and my gal begged me to find a 'good' cruise speed. We ate up 60 miles in very good time, but I saw a bike on the side of the road. Turned around and had a nice visit with a HD rider that had stopped to make a call and wait on friends. Guess it was lucky I stopped cause he was fixin to go 10 miles out of his way to Borger. I pointed to the overpass behind us and told him the prettier and faster way into the IronRider's side of Borger. We shook hands and went our separate ways. I was headed down a long stretch of road when a loud whinny honda civic came up beside me and reved his engine. I felt the bike tense up. I was in the mood.  I reved her while down shifting. He gave the car some more gas. I pop the clutch and was off. I left him and he tried for a bit, but shut down and followed for a block or two. I swear the bike was laughing.  Smiled all the way home. I had my hemet on, so the teenager had no idea a 52 yo had just embarassed him on a 97 bike.  Thanks for letting me share.

My grandparents lived in Pampa for a long time.  My grandfather is buried there.  They used to live on West St - the house is still there (saw it on Google street).  He worked at Phillips Petroleum and I think that was in Borger.

When I visit my grandfather's grave again someday, I'll let you know so we can share some wind.
