Nothing beats a 6-pack!

Hi all...

I am looking for some pictures, and info, on the Cobra light holders. I have never seen them in person, but I saw the last set go for about $350. I am going to try and make a set, that would mount to the original turn signal mounts, if it's feasible - I have a set coming to try it. However, the three pics I have, don't show very well, how the wires are routed. If anyone has a set, either on or off the bike, that can send me a good picture, of the wiring, it would be GREATLY appreciated...my email is:

rcav8or@REMOVEsbcglobal.net

Here's the pics I have:

Thanks in advance...

I'm not real sure I understand your question, so if I get off course, just ignore what I write.

The picture with the wires showing, there is a grove in the underside.  There is a couple of screw holes or at least one.  That is for the wire tie to hold the wires from the lights to the bike out of sight.   From there they just go up the fork post and disappear  into the headlight.

Here's a generic wiring diagram, it works great for me, shouldn't matter whether you have Cobra, Acme or whatever brand
driving lights.

The Cobra lightbar you have pictured is just about the coolest one going by the way  cooldude

I've got a few close-up pix of the underside of the light bar. Based on your query, I can't for sure determine what exactly you're looking for. Clarify a little more... I can send a couple pix your way when I get home from work. sheets

RJ answered about having a "groove" cut on the bottom, that the wiring is routed in, which is what I am looking for. I can barely make it out in the pics I have, now that I know what I was looking at. If your pics show the groove, a little better, it would be appreciated. I tried changing the size of the pic, but it got too pixelated to show much.

thanks, just went and looked. Starting out at $280, but the last several I've seen, have gone for around $350. I agree, as was said, that these are really cool, but that's a little rich for my blood - I've bought a half-dozen motorcycles in my life, for less than that.   coolsmiley

After I get a set of mounts, I really think I can make one out of aluminum, that will attach just like the original turn signals, that will be similar to the Cobras. Maybe not as pretty, but when buffed and polished, with look very nice. I have some aluminum 1/2" deck material, that should buff and polish out right nicely. I have access to a small mill, that might do it, or I might rough-cut with the plasma cutter.

I think it can be done, just have to see if I can be happy with the results - I'm my own worse critic!

Thanks,

Cheesy Cheesy  WOW!! Exactly what I needed! Not at all as I pictured it, from the description. Thought it was just relieved, not an actual groove. Makes sense, though.

Thanks! Makes it a little...er...a LOT more complicated, but still think it's do-able.

The sealed beam style lamps that go in the cobra spots are worthless as far as lighting the road fo ryou.  They are fine to aid in being seen by others but horrible as a headlight augmentee.

These spots are made by Cobra and are a direct fitment....they use H-3 bulbs and after properly aiming them light up the road as mush as a Valk headlight.  These will effectively double the light on the road....and they look very cool

I got them here:

If you can buy a set for $350 that would be a good deal, last set i seen new was up to around $750. it's more about safety than anything else. don't forget LOUD air horns!!
