The bee sting thing reminded me of something that happened a few years ago while riding with the Duc Man and a couple of buddies.

Andy (The Duc Man) was leading, I was third back and my bud Jim was riding sweep. I noticed Jim had suddenly dropped way behind us so I slowed and waited on him. When he caught up he asked if we could pull over at the next opportunity because he had gotten a bee or bees in his helmet and had been stung several times.

As we were stopping for an intersection I told the guy behind Andy we needed to pull over because Jim had a bee in his helmet. The guy rolled up beside Andy and told him with a very puzzled look to find a place for us to pull over because Jim “had to pee in his helmet”.   Grin

That's why I don't ride much in shorts. It's not the possible road rash, it's that shorts are "bee funnels".

I don't ride in shorts either, but I never thought of that as another reason not to. Ouch!  Shocked

Never had pee in my helmet...

And...never had to pee in my helmet.

I did have this conversation with a Tennesee State Trooper:
"Son, why aren't you wearing your helmet?" (at the time it was strapped to the back of my pack)
"Because it's full of deer sh!t and blood officer."

Knocked the sh!t out of that deer...I did.

Ranks right up there with the flavor of Castroil as things I remember tasting but never really wanted to.
