Some good tunes there Al. Jethro Tull and Uriah Heep were both awesome. Thanks for making me think of em. I’m heading for the North West this Friday on the scooter. Tull is already on the MP3 player but I’ll have to put some Uriah Heep on there before I leave. They both had a unique sound that was easy to identify. The Tull band members in particular were terrific musicians in my book.

This song is for those who are light in their motorcycle boots. Really.

If you want some harmonies...................

Doobie Brothers - Listen To The Music .1972

If you don't want harmonies  Evil ..........

Motorhead- Ace of Spades

I was photographing a cheerleader beauty queen competition at Stringfellows in London in the mid 80's. Lemmy was one of the judges. What a really nice bloke.  A group of us stayed on after the judging and he got us very merry. Paid for all the drinks.

The DVD of this concert is very good. The Killers live at The Royla Albert Hall.

http://www.youtube.com/watch#!v=HwU6hbciKpk&feature=related

Youtube has started doing this "related" crap and not linking to the video. Anyone know why???

Just WAY too many good guitarists, to include them all...

Doobie Brothers are coming out with a new album, September - saw them last week, did a couple songs from it - looks like a winner if you are a Doobie's fan...

Another one of my favs...

He falls into what I call guitar users rather than players. But I don't have a musical note in my body.  Sad  I know nothing

Rather like Stanley Jordan? Plays with both hands, like a piano. I respect ANY one that makes a guitar do what THEY want it to do...

But then, I like ANY instrument, when played well...Itzhak Perlman, violin, Vasser Clements, fiddle, Jean-Luc Ponty, Jazz Fiddle, Richard Greene, bluegrass fiddle...and blues fiddle, Michał Urbaniak, jazz fiddle...the list goes on and on...

But those that overcome adversity, to do what they love, affect me the most...

Pulled some Uriah Heep off the PC and added it to the zumo, Easy Livin' was one of them.

Lazy is probably my favorite Deep Purple tune.

Ritchie Blackmore - Lazy 1993

I like the version from "Made in Japan" better but Blackmore is always good.

I had a fantasy for  many years of Itzhak Perlman, Larry Adler and Tom Waits on piano and keyboards doing a long version of Summertime.

I can hear the harmonica and violin weaving in and out of the songs melody.
