GOT CURVES??

VRCCDS0184

« on: July 27, 2010, 08:40:58 PM »

I am just looking for opinions from those who do. This bike really calls me. I dont really want a second bike, But cant bear the though of letting the Valk go.
My main concern is my height. I am 6 foot 5 and only a 34 inch inseam. So I am mostly torso. I just dont know about riding position etc...
There are some good deals on 09s since the upgrades on the 2010s.

I happen to have an 08 Concours for sale.  16k miles new rubber.  I got 2 Valks and a couple of sport bikes to play on.  Let me know if you are interested.

No problems at all. I have just been looking at spourt touring bikes, and like the Councours. There is some new 09s around for under $10000.

Have you considered the Yamaha FJR1300?  I haven't ever rode a Connie 14 but I love my FJR.  Take a look at fjrforum.com where you'll find comparisons and opinions.

My next bike will be a Connie 14, I want a sport tourer and have tested many of them. I have tried a FJR1300, ST1300, BMW 1200RT, and the Connie. I will purchase a connie as soon as my son's college bill is paid, should be with in the year. I test drove all of them and like different aspects of each. I love the engine in the connie but my main reason for buying one is the size, it fits me right. I feel cramped on the Honda and FJR.

I will not surrender the Valk, ever. I bought it new in July of 98 and will own it until either I or the bike are beyond repair. The connie will be the bike I ride from Central Florida to Alaska in the summer of 2012. I have ten weeks for the trip so I will be all over the western part of the US and Canada.

Have you looked at a Honda? I love mine. 09 ST1300's in a couple places for $11,500.

Thanks Detn8er for the flag, it's still in use.

I would love to have a Connie 14. I'd considered one after my Standard was totaled, but ended up with an Interstate since the wife wouldn't ride with me on the C14. Someday...

Mine's for sale.  2008 ABS.  $8,000.  Loved it.  Went on to dual-sports.
