I agree you have to be careful on craigslist.  But, that is how I found my trike and he did not have a number listed.  I emailed him and he got back with me right away.  He was on the up and up.  Probably a rare occurance though

I'm not sure I'd put my phone number on a CL ad,,,, way too many goofballs out there with a cell phone and too much time on their hands.  crazy2

Although it's a very, very good price for an Interstate, it's too high for a scammer.

I'd say it's most likely legit.

It's on its 3rd listing.  I sent him a message asking a few questions and his answers were evasive.  He couldn't even tell me what car tire he has on it.  His answer to my question about when the last time final drive maintenance was completed was the Honda shop does all his maintenance.

The 1st time through it got a high bid of $6600.  Last night it only got a $5600 bid.  Now he's mad that no one won't bid what he wants when the bike has 2 dents on the front fender and almost 9,000 miles excessive mileage.

On the Valkyrie IS in Chattanooga.

Have made contact with the sellers father, owner is out of town.

Have an appointment 12:00 Noon local time tomorrow to see the bike.

I have a contact number and address, so I think it is legit.

More as soon as I know it.

I think that is a very good deal, provided the picture/description is current and there is no damage etc.  Mileage seems to be good, price is too high for the typical scammer.  Hmmmmmm.....  that would be a twinky for me or a spare for future transplants......

I've sold lots of stuff, even cars on Craigs list. I never give out my digits, I'm unlisted and keep it that way. I also meet them at a central location, not my home.

Just got home from looking at the Chattanooga IS that was for sale.

Thanks to IBSRP for the heads up. I owe you dinner and drinks.

The bike was as represented.
Few things here and there that need attention, but a bargain for $6200

Since it was a bargain and in need of attention and a new home, I volunteered to bring it home and attend to its needs.

Runs and idles like a champ, brakes fine, slight shake in the front at some speeds, probably patterned front tire, minor scratches on each bag (may polish out). Owner and son each let it fall over on a different side. One was to weak to stop it and the other to short. Very minor scratches no damage.

Needs a cleanup, some polishing, a few minor parts and a caring owner. i will volunteer for that also. Give me a little time straighten it up and I will post a picture.

Always available to save anyone's marriage especially if it means another motorcycle.
I was lucky as I was the first one of 15+ to call and get there.

Matter of fact he was having second thoughts on the price, but to his credit went thru with the sale.
For $200 to $300 I can make it like new, have already started.

19000 miles on a 1999 would be low miles to my thinking.

Again my thanks to IBSRP for the heads up.
