http://call-for-papers.sas.upenn.edu/node/36380A classmate of mine was telling me about a conference in Western NC. I expected her to mention one of the fine colleges in Western NC to host, but when she pulled out the info sheet it is being held at Gardner-Webb University. That is nominally in the Western half of the state I suppose. It is also near my house. So I rushed home and took an idea off of the back burner to send in as an abstract proposal. I'll be waiting to hear back for a few days.
After I shot off the email with my fleshed out idea, it occurred to me that they are also seeking presentations on Appalachian travel. I see the Southern Appalachian region discussed here very often. I wonder if any of you would like to discuss motorcycle tourism in Appalachian or some related topic? If so, then follow the directions and shoot an email over to Dr. Matt Theado at the email given at the address on the link.
Now that I've shot over my proposal I am having a flood of ideas that I could have sent. Oh well. I'll save it up for other conferences.
Thought I would share. If accepted I will be riding my Valk to the event. If not accepted I will still plan to ride my Valk to the event because it seems like an interesting topic and is close to the house. Might as well go.
