My 99 Standard has 44,000 miles on it.  I have no slipage in the clutch but have noticed on the sight glass the fluid is about half way down the window.  I know the clutch has never been replaced. Also know I have run her pretty hard. What kind of milage is everyone getting before a clutch is replaced?
Is it something that can be done a lift in the garage or does everyone recomend the dealer do it?

Any input ????

Change the fluid and fill it up to the line........if if goes back down you have a problem, if it doesnt just ride it..........you dont have enough miles to worry unless you have really been abusing the old gal

I replaced mine or should say some parts of it at 64,000, the rivets popped out of the spacer disk, nothing else was wrong or damaged. You can do it yourself with a lift. The only trouble will be the spring on the clutch basket, I took mine to a local shop and they removed it for me. After I made the repairs and replaced the parts I took the basket back to the shop and they put the spring back on it for me.
