What do you all think it will cost me to replace my front shock seals and bushings?
It's in the shop right now and will be out soon.
New front Motorcycle Specific Avon Cobra on the front.
That is the other repair.
Leaked all the fluid out of the right fork before it got to the shop.
Wonder if that will be damaged because of that?
Motorcycles gotta love em but they need TLC now and then.

Seems to cost a couple hundred to $275 usually. Make sure they change the bushings as well (there are two per fork). That's really the only thing that can wear. You sure ALL the oil leaked out? There's durn near a quart in each fork.

When mine started leaking it covered my bike front to rear in oil....I was on a 1200 mile weekend ride to Hattiesburg, Mississippi when it started ...It was 9 degrees when we pulled out of my driveway...Always wondered if the cold caused it to let go That rip-off dealer you have it at ...I'll bet close to $600.00 plus for everything ( labor, tire etc. ) ...I would'nt let them work on my wheelbarrow .

I shopped around for a quote on this recently, and here's the one response I got locally: Howdy, I just wanted to see if I could get an estimate on what it would run me to have the front fork oil and seals replaced on my 1998 Honda Valkyrie Standard... One of the seals is currently leaking. Just replacing the oil and seals, not the springs... Thanks! Brian, Sorry for the delay. I checked with service and it would run $49.54 in parts and $311.50 for the labor. I received the quote from (name redacted) in our service department.

Thanks for the vote of confidence there Joe it made me feel all warm inside.
I personally like them or it would not be there.
One of the guys back there has been doing work for me for about 4 years.
Reuben the other guy is one of the best mechanics in this area.
275 sounds right and thanks for the estimate.
yes they are replacing the bushings as well as the front tire.

That's cool Al Folks like you are why they are still in business...They got my last dollar when they charged me $40.00 to mount a tire with me bringin' the wheel in. Took the dude maybe 4 minutes to do the job.

Al, My friend just had this done at a local Honda dealer. He paid $249.12 for parts and labor. He also had them install Progressive springs, not included in the parts price, he already had them.

Used to pay 45 dollars plus tax at Good Times Kawasaki and did not know any better at the time.
That's with the wheel off.
Usually up at Tommy's i slip them a 20 cash and the tire magically gets on the wheel.
Little perks for dealing with them so much.
if you walk in cold they will charge a little more, but with gas at 2.50 a gallon and the Knoxville Traffic.
It ain't worth it to drive to Knoxville.
