I'm interested in other ideas  people have for MP3 installation on Interstates

Here is what I have. I hooked an extension audio cable into the spare audio jack under the right side cover, came under the tank and up to the throttle side. Tie wrapped the supplied cover in place and put the player in. I can operate all the functions with my right thumb and it is easy to remove and take with me.

What have others done?

Think you will find what you have done so have most of
the others.  I do know there is a device that lets you operate
the Mp3 player remotely, but that is no better than what you
are doing now.

I hooked up a relay and fuse panel on a piece of 1/4 plywood under the seat behind the battery with a couple cigarette lighters to power the iPod and GPS. When in use the wires just come out of the side cover at the nose of the seat and the iPod stays in the pocket of my tank bib (or tank bag, if I'm on longer trips). The GPS velcros onto a bracket to the right of the risers, and the power wire runs up under the tank bag. Some day when I have the tank off, like changing the air filter, I'll probably run that wire under the tank. Might run a cig lighter into the fairing as well.
