From Phoenix to the west entrance of Yellowstone Park Wyoming, first gas stop in Camp Verde Az.

This is Marbel Canyon, that's the Navajo Bridge over the Colorado river. We are headed for Jacobs Lake then into Kanad Utah and make Salt lake city.

It was a long ride about 530 miles to Salt Lake City from Flagstaff Az. We got rooms and had the shuttle pick us up and take us to dinner.
Next day was Sunday and had about 360 miles to go to our cabins in Island Park Idaho. It was sure nice to have a cold one!!

Then it was dinner at the lodge.

Had to take a couple of pics after dinner.

Heading into the west entrance of Yellowstone.

And into the park.

HOT pools!!

HOT mud!!

This hot spring dumps like 4000 gallons of steaming hot water into the river every 5 or 10 minutes.

BIG HOT POOL!!!!!

Old Faithful getting ready to go.

And no this is NOT a telephoto lens. Iwas about 30 feet from him others were 15 feet. I was close enough and my retreat was an uphill path so I was not going to get too close, besides I knew I was able to out run 95% of the people who were there.

I'm glad this one just kept walking by. I am sitting on the Valk while Connie who is behind me is taking pictures. Yes I had a clear path ahead of me and I did not stop for him I just kepy rolling. LOL!

Herd of Elk way in the background.

It was a trip that will be remembered for the rest of my life. We di about 2755 miles in 9 days. Some days we only rode 130 miles or so. We sure had a great time and I would recommend seeing the Park if you ever get a chance. We were there for three days and did niot see close to everything.

Heck, I'm still at work and looked at them... oops.. hope noone at work other than my wife knows that... Smiley

Anyway, what is the copper like stuff floating on the water, or just under the surface?  Is it metallic?  Or is it just a funny color of fungi?

Ditto!  I don't post on the board much at all --- stay too damn busy with work and at the end of the day looking at a computer is the last thing I'm interested in!  tickedoff

However ----   cooldude  after Kendall said you had made a post about Yellowstone I had to check it out and comment

Kendall and I are putting together our vacation trip and although it won't be for another month (or longer) we are playing on cruising past Yellowstone.  Now we both realize that a cruise past is a sad statement for such a spectacular place -- but this time around Yellowstone is not our destination -- just a scenic bypass along the way to our destination   Roll Eyes

Thank you for the beautiful breath-taking pictures --- I am looking forward to our drive-by   Cool

Hey Western Biker....nice trip, pictures and all. I would love to ride in your area. As an Eastern Biker, our roads are not as nice as yours. Buffalo NY is not the best place to live if you like to ride. Some day I hope to get out their. It's on my bucket list. Nice bikes (CLEAN) good looking people (who's who???) and the weather looks super for riding. Good job, post more if you have them, I enjoyed looking at them and reading bout the ride.  cooldude

I used to post pics from all my rides as well as several others and I have slacked off, due to sometimes absolutely no response at all. It consumes much time editing and moving to photobucket then posting to the VRCC. There were several members here who continulously posted great narrated ride reports, I always enjoyed them. It gets the blood flowing and the enthusiasm going for those of us that cant' ride as often. It shows off some magnificant places to visit on this planet too. I really enjoyed the board more when it was more about this.
Again, thanks for sharing. You've got some realy stunning shots from what looks like the trip of a lifetime cooldude

Thanks all.
If you have not been to Yellowstone Park I would recommend it highly. Temps were about 76 during the day and down as low as 47 at night, this was just a couple weeks ago. Usually rain every afternoon around 3 but it did not rain while we were there, just when we left. We had sunny skies and we did get sun burnt too, not thinking about using the sunblock with temps like that. We had 3 days to see the park and that was not enough, so if you decide to go give yourself some time if you want to see everything.

Whatever it is, it's better in the wind.

Hey I agree, this is what it is all about, the ride and the sharing of rides. Do not get discouraged if you do not receive a comment about a ride right away. The pics are great and it makes me want to get on the bike and start heading West, and I mean, NOW!
To all that share their rides and are fortunate enough to have the time do actually do them, please keep posting and I promise I will keep looking in the hopes that I will find the time to ride to all those great places. cooldude cooldude

Thanks, Yuri

Fabulous pics from a GREAT touring site. The wife and I were out there about three years ago. We did Yellowstone, Glacier and all the surrounding sites in eight days. Your pics brought back many great memories, including "dancing with the buffalo" in the late afternoon. Thanks again.
