The Twilight Zone

« on: August 02, 2010, 08:10:21 PM »

Hi, After reading about people pulling the carbs to clean/replace the jets, and my brother in law paying the stealers $800 to clean and or replace the jets, I was wondering how often to add a good fuel additive. I know it's not good to do it a lot. So to be on the safe side, what would you recommend?

Thanks  Wink

I use Sea Foam.  1/2 of a can 2 times a year.  Once in mid summer and then when I park it for the winter....it is also a stabilizer.  And if I ever get a chance to get either Valk out during the winter, I top off the tank when I am close to home and then add 1 oz of Sea Foam for every gallon of gas that I added.

2000 I/S and 1997 Std.  No problems with the carbs.  cooldude

Yup... +1 on the SeaFoam.  Great shtuff.  It's a "more gooder" stabilizer for winter than "Stabil" is.   cooldude

Marine Stabil, 1/2 oz per 5 gal when carberated engine is in service; when stored, 1 oz per 5 gal.

I dump a full can of Sea Foam when I put MGM away for the winter.

Take him out in the spring, the 3rd tank of fuel he gets another full can of Sea Foam.

Have had no problems in many many miles with jets and or stumbles.......

I love Seafoam. Twice a year. Sometimes I add an extra can if the bikes sit for longer than two weeks.

Love it

Thanks to what I've read here, I added seafoam to my "new" Interstate, and she seem to run stronger and smoother. I also had a riding mower I was giving up on, and a strong seafoam treatment got her running again. I am VERY impressed!!!     Mike in New York!
