They are interchangeable.  The tourer bags have a seam in the middle, while the IS bags do not.  The IS bag lids lift off, while the tourer bags have hinges to allow the lid to fold ahead.  However, the hinges are interchangeable, so can be switched between.  IS is preferred, because of the lack of the seam.  Everything else interchanges though.

While looking around on ebay yesterday, I noted two 1100 Shadows with hardbags that had the TOURER emblem on them.  They looked just like the Valkyrie tourer bags.  Anyone know if they are the same bags?

How does the chrome mount and rails compare? not that familiar, but looks close, to me...

those have to be tourer bags!!  the paint scheem is the same and everything (but then again, the tank and front fender match also, maybe he liked that design?)

on another note, does anyone have a "leaking" saddle bag on the left?  my left saddle bag always has water in it when it gets washed, or rains.  that is, when it's on it's kick stand leaning to the left.  if anyone has any idea's to fix this problem i'd be very thankful.....

Undecided I suspect you might have a problem opening a tour bag if the interstate still has the trunk  Sad
A hinged lid - you would not be able to open very far before hitting the trunk  Cheesy

The other way around an IS bag on a tourer I suspect would function fine  ???

The only problem with the tour lids that I have ran into is if you have Ultimate King Big boy seats that are studded the sides of the lids rub when you open them. Angry

just put a set of interstate hinges on them. the lids will lift off then. ever wonder what the plastic hook inside of the lid is for? you can hook the detached lid on the lip  of the bag rather than setting it on the ground.
