Paul and Candy from Ohio blew out a rear bearing while on a trip out west.  They were able to get to the VORTEX info site and request help.

A BIG SALUTE to John White from Bayfield, CO that was able to bring a trailer and get them to a relatives house and start repairs.  They were 20 miles from him and he trailered them another 50 miles to their relatives house.

If you aren't signed up for VORTEX, do it!

Thanks for helping them out, John!

John did go out of his way to help us and he didn't want to take any money, but I made him, to at least cover the cost of his gas. He'll never know how much I appreciate what he did. He really saved my bacon. I hope to return the favor some day, that is why I joined VORTEX years ago. Again, Thanks a million, John White, for the help.

Hey, Paul, it more than covered the cost of gas and you'll be pleased to note that I got all the way home without getting pulled over (the tags on the trailer AND the truck are expired, oops). I spent a bit of it on pineapple sherbet and Vernors for my signature floats. I'm out of JD as well so I'll likely re-up that. Hm. Doesn't leave much for gas, does it?

Did you get 'er running again? Hope so, and have a really great rest-of-the-trip.
Oh and BTW Check out NM 64 between Tierra Amarillo and Tres Piedras one of the best bike roads I've ever ridden. (Silverton, Durango, Pagosa, on 160 then south on NM 84 to Chama, Tierra Amarillo--on the other end you'll end up at Cimmaron and can choose N or S to I-25.

Yeah I/we did get it going. Had to drimmel out the outter bearing ring, but got it back on the road. We are in Burlington, CO right now. Thought we shouldn't push our luck too hard, just heading for home.
Thanks again Freep,
Paul
