Fairings Again! Headlight Issues??

I am still wanting to put a fairing on my Tourer as my next project. New brake-lines should be in this week and plan to do them over the weekend.

Anyway I have been searching Flea-bay and picked up a Road-King (aftermarket) fairing for $250.

I went to the HD dealer to take some measurements. The salesman looked at me kinda funny till I explained what I was doing.

The Road king headlight Bucket seems to be about the same size as the Valks. Just a bit over 9 inchs chrome to chrome.  Maybe 1/4 inch smaller give or take but not more than 1/2 at the most.
So I am thinking it will fit.

The forks are 10 inches center to center, the Valks are about 10 1/3rd So I am thinking that there should be enough flex to cover that. If not I can make an adapter with little effort I think.

I know someone here has put the Road-king fairing on the Valk but don't remember who.

QUESTSIONS:
Does anyone know what alterations will be needed. and Do I need to get the VTX headlight.
Is the VTX headlight smaller or is just the bucket narrower.?

Several VTX folks have put those fairings on their X's.  The X headlight works just fine (so they say).  You may a good bit of infomation on "how to" on the VTXOA site.  I find lots of stuff is similar between my VTX and the Valkyrie.

Thanks for the info. I know the VTX will work, I was wondering if it is required or will the Valk headlight work, (just not look as good)
