Had an issue with the trailer the yesterday. The brake controller went nuts and the hubs/tires got -really- hot. Disconnected the controller and made it back to the house. On pulling the hubs I found the wheel bearing were discolored a bit so I went ahead and replaced them. The spindles looked fine. The only problem now is that the trailer tires are getting really hot during short 6 mile test trips. Hotter than I have ever had tires run. They are inflated to 50psi per spec and the trailer is not overloaded. The hubs are now running what I judge a normal temp that is I can grab them and they feel warm, however I can feel the heat from the tire before I touch it.
Dunno.
Not sure I want to trust these tires on a long trip.
Any suggestions?

To make this Valk related, I got to ride all the way into town to pick up the bearings and seals this morning.
'Course I took the long way home.....

Wow.....  are the tires under some load other than air pressure (I think it's too much personally, and it would depend on the load).
