never heard from either of you so decided to take the scenic roads
100 north to 35 along the croton reservoir watershed to 684 and some high speed hijincks until I got to 84 to Danbury and met some of the New ENgland Valkyrie riders (DynoDave, Dan-bury, Larry Ponte, Boz) saw a mint condition 1979? crx a six cylinder wish I had my camera parked next to an old Norton lots of great old bikes to gawk at and admire.
Nobody wanted to ride just talk so after half an hour I just left and took 6 all the way back to Carmel NY and picked up 301 saw 2 MC accidents one a clear case of target fixation as the sport bike ran off the road across a short field and into a stone wall bike was wrecked and later a bike had hit a car on its right front so it certainly appeared to me the biker in a a group of sportbikes was passing over a double yellow to follow his friends and lost it dont know if he died or not but there was a bunch of sportbikers that seemed to be from NYC club at the scene. You always see them all try to pass at the same time on the narrow twisties and these accidents although disturbing are common
followed 301 (its one lane each way no shoulder) all the way west to the Hudson river and then went south to bear mtn bridge crossed the bridge and then up the mountain to the top of Perkins drive, no friendly faces so I just went back down and picked up the Palisades Parkway which you know is a great ride to 6W and my parents home
They needed the company as dad is still kinda not himself since the heart surgery Friday but he is gettin better and still my dad so all is good
After a while I headed over to 9W and rode along the west side of the river till I hit the Tappan Zee Bridge and crossed east to the Saw Mill (NY Parkways are cars and motorcycles only no trucks) and ran that one about as hard as I can till I hit the Taconic Parkway and towards Ossining
only about 130 miles but lots and lots of smiles. Bike ran perfectly as always. Got to use the evaporative vest under my mesh jacket and stayed cool in the 85-90 degree day
Hope you fellows got some wind
