We made it home tonight at 7:50 pm EST. We left the hotel, that was about 5 miles East of Kansas City, and only stopped for gas, drinks, and munchies. It was a little over 600 miles, not too bad, just a little bit of the numb buns, and the machine ran fine. Thanks again everyone for all of your help when I ran into machanical problems on the road. VORTEX and the people on this board saved my butt and I can not thank them enough, just safice it to say that if any of you ever have problems, or know of someone that has problems, that are in or around my area, I will be there to help them out to the best of my ability. Wether it be a trailer ride, my garage, my tools, my house, or any parts that I can get my hands on to get them back on the road. I will post more later. I have only been home now for about one hour, and I need to unwind a little. Again, my sincere thanks to all that helped me when I was broke down on the road. Paul "OP2" Powell and Candy Powell

You know several of us were interested in ya buddy.
That Willow guy, just give him a 6 pak and he will be just fine.
Right Gunny?
For those that don't know, Carl rode all over the top of Kansas, from Olathe to Hays and back getting parts & tires to Paul and Candy. This I heard on the grape vine, so don't knock the monkey if I'm wrong. Just let me know and I'll modify the post.
Modified: Vell Lori has done stepped forward and basically said i was full of it. LOL. So from what she says, then sude31 is to get the credit for running around and Carl for doin what he does best, on da phone. Good one on ya Bro, Us up here in da midwest want to thank all involved, Paul & Candy is good people. So thanks again.
Carl, might be a grump at times, but that is his Marine Corps up bringing, but deep down, he is one pretty nice guy. Semper fi Brother.

Although Carl was on the telephone trying to coordinate efforts, Stude31 is actually the one that "rescued" Paul, not only once, but twice. He took the u-joint out to him and them helped him again later when he had tire issues. There were many from the Kansas group that participated in the efforts to get Paul and Candy back on the road.
The VRCC always seems to come through for those in need and it makes me very proud to be a part of this group!

Must be my Hound Dog nature. Dat me story and I'm stickin to it. I'd also like to say thanks to everyone who helped Paul & Candy out. They are good people and a part of my oHIo buddies.

There were many people that helped me out the three different imes that I broke down on the 7500 mile road trip that we were on. From being trailered three times ( John White, Daryl Zachman, (who said he hasn't had a Valk. in 8 yrs) and one of Stude31's friends), to phone calls (Willow, Mojo, Murdoc, DocMoose, RJ and Wegs), to parts donations (Gunslinger), to labor and tools and running way out of their way to get to me (Stude 31, Daryl, and John), and I'm sure there are a lot more that I can't think of right now. Just know that I am truly greatful for everything that everyone did for me. This IS a great club, with great people, and I am proud to be a member. Thanks again, Paul "OP2" Powell

Joe Studebaker rode 500 miles to get a fresh U-joint to Paul. He also spent time searching down the item and then helped Paul replace a rear tire when they broke down again near Topeka.
Joe is a first class guy!

Joe is a first class guy! Willow is usually the 'god of articulation ' and so well versed it humbles one to speak with him. but really,"Joe is a first class guy! " ? .....Altho' that has 100% truth to it, I think Carl has played it down a bit and made a SEVERE understatement! Joe Studebaker makes 1st class look lame! The awesome inspiration of his example is only out done by his new bride's ability to tolerate him ! And with Jess backing Joe, we are in the best of hands..TWO AWESOME PEOPLE ! we should all learn from them.

Amen and Amen. Joe is the 'cream on the top'. An all around good guy.
I am proud to have had the opportunity to get to meet him in person and be a recipient of his hospitality.
One fine fellow.

That Joe managed to marry Jess is evidence that there is indeed some justice in this world.
Now, let's not get too carried away while Joe can still get his hat on his noggin.
