Today I rode my 98 Valk for the first time since April of this year. I had surgey on May 19th to aleiviate some neuromuscular issues caused by my spinal chords peripheral ligaments calcifying and occluding the nerve signals from my brain to my extremeties.
I rode about 10 miles on EN Hines Parkway to the Nankin Mills and back home. My wife followed behind in my pickup truck. She had her riding gear in the truck in case I could not continue my ride; she could then ride the bike home and I could drive my truck. My Valk seemed somehow smaller than I had remembered and less heavy than I remember. I know that I will have to learn to adjust to a new riding style as my limitations are going to play heavily on future rides.
I want to publicly thank my wife for her support my efforts to help me continue riding. She is a dedicated rider that some VRCC members had the oppurtunity to meet at INZANE X.

Wow! Wonderful to hear that you are back in the wind! Unfortunately, did not meet your wife at InZane X...she sounds like a great person. I guess I was too busy riding around enjoying your great state.

Outstanding George! One step at a time, one day at a time. I remember your post prior to surgery, I am glad you kept a positive attitude. After meeting you and your wife at InZane I knew you would be back in the wind. Wooohoooo! Next year at InZane, maybe we can hook up for a ride! Great news. JDW

That is absolutely the best news I've heard or seen all day, congratulations on your persistence, and for doing it with a safety net, and for finishing! I was on Hines drive from Northville to Plymouth after Inzane when I was looking for my grandparents graves. It is a beautiful road. I expect to ride with you next year, you have put a big smile on my face!
