Have relation that lives in Rapid City so they keep me updated every year on accidents/deaths and etc.

The Rally really starts this week, but already, they have had  3 deaths.

Guess what from?    NO, it is not from being hit by another vehicle or flying object.

FIRKIN rear tires going flat or blowing out.

Check them thar tires if ya ride much, the little bast*rds don't last too long in the mileage dept.     One reason I have run a CT for so long.

At least the front one I can see it, that damn rear one under the bags is hard for me to see.

OKAY, I'll get off my soap box.

I firmly believe that MOST riders, yep I said most, riders DO NOT check their tire pressures enough.

If you ride once a week check them before your ride.

If you ride every day check them at least twice a week.

Kicking the tire will not show a 5 to 10 psi drop.

Once a tire is underinflated it will generate a lot of heat. This heat does not dissipate and the carcass of the tire will overheat.

I can kick my KLR rear tire and at 10psi it will feel like it has 32psi in. This is due to the extremely stiff side wall.

My experience with running a car tire on my Valk showed me that car tires also have very stiff sidewalls which could lead to a tire kicker getting the wrong impression of his tires air pressure.

Cousin clarified the 1st email for me.

Yeah, it was lost air pressure, but mostly it was from a hole in the center where the cords wore through.      Don't need to check air pressure there, just look for a little white streak in the center tread.

Find one, park it till ya get a new tire.
