Reason I ask is that I saw one for a good price and they look real close.  I doubt the rails would be the same.  I know that Valk bags are still bringing good prices.

The mounts and rails won't work but the bags are the same.

There's a set, from a cycle supply place, that sells a lot of bike parts, and the description says:

Quote
Product Description

    * honda saddlebag tourer oem
    * Contains 2 saddlebag
    * perfect condition minor scuff regular use
    * tested and work
    * fits on vakyrie  tourer and shadow 1100 tourer
    * if you need i have the mounting oem for shadow 1100 free with saddlebag  mounting fit on valkyrie but if need to make 2 inch bracket
    * Feel Free to contact us for getting more picture or info .

I think if you could find someone with the 1100, and see, you might be able to tell if they would work...

I'm hoping to luck into a set.

I've asked for pictures and/or clarification. We'll see if he comes through. Just saw a Shadow Tourer with bent forks go for $1475. Almost worth it for the bags...

If I was doing it... I'd go Harley Bags, and fab a mounting system in a minute.  I looked and looked and thought and thought about doing it.  And still might SOMEDAY for my Standard.

I am always just too darn busy to work on anything though.

Guess I am the subject matter expert.  I own a '97 Valk Tourer and an '01 Shadow ACE Tourer.
the bags are the same.  The mounts are different.

Marty - how different? Close? Kinda close? Not even in the ball park?

Reason is, I asked the gent, and he said they were almost identical, just needed to drill different holes. Then he said "trust me". Seeing as he's trying to make top-dollar on them, I'd trust you, first!!

So, if you were (or are!) pretty mechanical, with a pretty decent shop full of tools, think you could use the Shadow mounts, and make them work on a Valk?

How about i take some pics for you?  Shoot me an email to ppcshooter1 at msn.com.   You'll also get to see how different the bag rails are.

Have you checked out the Tsukayu bags? You can get them for about $500 and they are a great product. I love mine.

Hef - I'm a big fan of tsukayu bags. I have another thread talking about them. Seem a very good alternative. If I can get a set of Shadow bags for under $500, I might go that way. But I'd get Tsukayu bags before I'd pay a grand for stock.

Do you have a bunch of pics of your Tsukayu's? I've only seen a couple of poor pics, and would like to see some! The main reason I'd go stock, is possibly resale value, but I like the size, and the rake of the Tsu's.

Thx
