Guns...Anyone have a Kahr P380?

I recently acquired my concealed carry permit and am looking at purchasing a pocket pistol. I have handled the Ruger LCP but the Kahr, although expensive, appears to be much higher quality. Anyone have any experience with one? Any other .380s I should consider?

Been thinking the same thing...  A buddy has the LCP, and it is a blast to shoot.  Been looking at the Kahr too.  Here is a nice review...

I've got the Bersa 9MMUCPRO Dual Tone, along with the Bersa/Firestorm 22LR (same frame as the .380)...  Bersa is the best kept secret in hand guns at the moment.  Great quality, great price

The Bersa looks like a great gun, but it weighs more than some 9mms, and about twice the LCP and Kahr 380s. I am sure the extra weight makes it a joy to shoot, but I really want to have something that I can almost forget that I am carrying.

You might want to check out the Keltec P3AT....I have one and have put about 300 rounds through it...very low maintenance and accurate...I like it.

I have several Kahrs, although not the .380. I would recommend you take a close look at the Kahr PM 9. This gun is small enough for concealed carry and reliable. The 9mm will put a hole in an attacker a little deeper and more effective than the .380. The PM 40 is the same size but has feed problems, the followers break causing jams.

I appreciate all the comments. There is a gun show this weekend locally so I hope to be able to make some comparisons. The S&W Bodyguard .380 looks interesting but I will be surprised if I can find one of those...

I've owned a Ruger LCP for awhile, great gun,easy to conceal, it took about 100 rounds to get used to shooting it consistently, I like it.

look at the Sig Sauer P232. or a used P230.   Very light and compact, and both have been replaced by a newer model , so should be reasonalby priced now.

I agree strongly with MNBill...... Kahr is the Cadillac of small auto pistols, but don't settle for a puny .380 when you can get a 9mm (a much better cartridge in available defensive loads) in the P9 or PM9.  

Personally, I prefer the P9.... no need for a 3" bbl when you can have a 3.6" bbl; concealing the bbl is never a problem (until it's 5-6"), it is the frame that is hard to conceal.  The extra .6" bbl gives you better reliability, accuracy and muzzle velocity.  

The P9 is light, easy to conceal, plenty of good concealment IWB holsters (Milt Sparks), more accurate than you can hold, and utterly reliable (after the required first 2-300 rounds for break in).  

Specifically, I recommend model KP9094 in all blue (black).

I've got a KelTec 380. I had a lot of jamming problems with it to begin with and after shooting 300 rounds or so it got worse. It was very accurate considering the sights and short barrel though.

I finally had the shop I bought it from send it back to the factory for repair. (life time warranty for the original purchaser if I remember right) I got it back after 5 weeks and no jams of any kind now. I would have had to pay shipping if I had sent it back but Gander Mountain paid the shipping and sent it for me since I bought it from them. It's a great gun now that it doesn't jam but KelTec doesn't have the reputation for quality that Kahr does.

I have the LCP (with Crimson laser) and have problems with my big fingers and the overly long double action trigger. I also have a Kahr PM40, but I've only handled the Kahr 380, and it's very small. I have ordered the Sig Sauer P238 to replace my LCP. I've come to the conclusion that with big hands, you really need to stick to SAO pistols. The Sig P238 two tone with blackwood grips is a beautiful weapon, as is the P238 SAS.

i have had a kelta .380 and have shot the bersa. keltac is a jam machine and not fun to shoot bersa shoots better but is still a 380 as far as conceal carry and defensive weapons i would go with and do carry a small revolver they never jam and a 38 special packs plenty of punch for the job you can even get a small frame in 357 mag but they are much harder shoot check out j frame sw or ruger lcr.

The P226 was never made in .45ACP.  It has been chambered in 9mm, .40 S&W and .357 Sig.  The P220 on the other hand was made in 9mm and .45ACP.  Be that as it may, the ONLY Sig Sauer pistol to be adopted by the U.S. Military is the P228 in 9mm as the M11.
