we were at the smithonian air and space museum in washington dc when i came across this curtis v8 motor cycle!!  i tought to myself, wow, that's a nice engine!!  it would be nice to have two more cylinders on our bikes, but, i'm happy with what i've got!!

it was amazing that he was able to go 137 miles per hour!!

i wonder what we'll find today??

I'm surprised the seat isn't higher. I'd figure he'd need at least a foot to hang the pair of big brass ones he had to have to push that clothes hanger wrapped around an engine to 137 mph.

Wow!  No clutch, no brakes, and the only suspension is in the seat.  I wonder if the 137 mph was intentional or just a result of hanging on until he ran out of gas??

we were washed out of the washington monument!!  sever thunderstorms!!
maybe tomorrow.
i didn't have time to read about the curtis motor cycle, but from what i did read, it was a pretty primitive cycle, it basicly was a test bed for his airplanes.  curtis originaly was a motor cycle developer.

my wife asked the cabby if it's a safe city, the cabby says "other then the politicians, there are no criminals here!!"
