I picked up a Yamaha CB for the IS. Plugs all match up. I have the IS mount for under the trunk. I need to extend the three wire power lead as its too short. I can do that.

The issue is with the 13 pin cable. It is just short of reach the radio connector. I pulled the radio out of its rubber sleeve and turned it around. That might solve the problem if all the other connectors reach. If not I'm wonder if this is a 13-pin C-BUS? I think it would have to be male to female. If so I wonder if there is a extender cable I could use. I know some have used the space behind the battery to mount the CB. I can keep that as an option but would like to see if I can mount it under the trunk first.

I know someone was making patch cords but can't seem to remember who. I would consider going behind the battery so you don't have any additional connections in the wire, this will also allow you to run the stock fender taillight without modifying the CB trunk mount brackets. Just some thoughts.

Does anyone happen to know what model years will work? (Sorry not trying to hijack your thread I've asked in other threads but I can't ever seem to find the answer)

I think the Venture CB that worked mirrored the years the Valk was out. Mine was out of a 99. Wish I could find a reliable shop that still works on electronics. I'm sure they could open CB and replace power and 13 pin leads with longer ones without issue. Looking at it tonight. Turning radio around doesn't appear be an option. Seat doesn't want sit down. Battery box not ruled out. Might talk to people I know in our electrical engineering lab at penn state.

I've got one and simply dremeled out one section of the plastic under the seat. The radio fit right in with no problems. Extended the power lines and the radio was plug and play, worked well for several months now.

Cef2lion - talk to Big Mike at Valkyrie Bling and More. He may be able to help you out. He arts up Clarions to work with the IS.

I got my Yamaha CB mounted under the trunk. I extended the power wires off the CB so it reached the right side cover.

I picked up a 15 foot C-BUS male to female 13 pin Sony CD changer cable. I connected everything and the CB works with the bikes audio. The 15 feet of cable is a bit hard to hide. Since then Sierra-MC never forgot about me. They sent me an email Friday and said they found a cable that was much shorter. Clarion 13 pin C BUS cable extension (part number Clarion CCA-306-500). I have that being shipped to me to replace the longer one I have now.

At first I didn't think the CB was receiving. All the CB controls worked and so did the squelch. I had a small hand held CB from my RV. I wasn't able to hear its broadcast. I have no headset as yet so no way to broadcast from the bike. I then tried the main CB in my RV. Works perfect. Not sure why I wasn't able to pick up the small handhelds. I even picked up and installed the optional passenger push to talk switch that mounts to the front edge of the trunk.

You might call Al at Sparky's CB Shack. http://www.sparkyscbshack.com/Home.html He does good work on CB radios and can surely extend the leads to whatever length you want. I've bought some custom radios (modified conventional cb radios) and have been impressed with his customer service. He isn't cheap, but he does good work. Call him, as email may or may not get answered.

I got that shorter Clarion C-BUS extender cable from Sierra. Worked perfect and just the right length. CB is up and working perfect.
