Grand Rapids, MI (actually Lowell- but who knows where that is)

I'm planning on riding and trailoring- yes trailoring- my valk from Michigan down through Arizona, and into S. California in October.  Do I need to be more than normally concerned with the security of my valk?  Don't mean to insult anyone from that area...but my '97 Red & White would not look so good parted-out...  We'll be parked in a few motel parking lots, etc.
By the way- we're trailoring so that we can get there, and ride.  Also could have snow on the ground in Michigan by the time we get back.  thanks (gracias) for the help.

I do not remember a single instance of a Valk being swiped mentioned here.  Please correct me if I rememberer is not working.

Most thieves want Harleys.  Ready market for parts or bikes.  Ours, not so much.

I would just take normal precautions.

I have a 2001 Interstate, and I have never had a problem or felt like there was going to be a problem.  I use a disk lock overnight, but I have parked in garages in Long Beach and open lots in Pomona.  I would not worry unless you are going places where you should not go anyway (East LA).

I always carry a little half cover when traveling.  This one is close to waterproof, packs very small, no metal hardware to scratch bike, and keeps prying eyes and fingers off the bike overnight in motel parking lots.  I also always try to get a room "around back on the ground floor where I can park right outside my room."
