I have the Ultimate Big Boy seat and love the ride it provides. However, I am disappointed in the rain covers for the seat. I like the way they store small when not in use but I have only used mine a few times and have already had to patch it twice from rips which occurred when installing them. Does anyone know of a more durable substitute which will fit this seat? TIA

Call Ultimate. You may have just gotten a bad one.

I don't think it was a fluke. I also had the same problem. Called Des, at Ultimate Seats, and he did replace the cover at no cost, but the new cover did the same thing. It is the Frogg Togg type material, it is too flimsy and doesn't hold a stitch too well. I went to B&G Upolstery, bgseatcovers.com, and ordered their rain cover for the 1500 Wing. It is a one piece cover that goes over the whole "driver seat/ passenger seat/ driver backrest" area, and also comes with a sepperate cover that goes over the pass. backrest. They are made of a nylon material that stands up well to being ridden on, packs down fairly small, and keeps the rain out really well. I just got back from a 7200 mile trip and had to use them several times, they worked without any problems. I am not afflilyated with them at all, I just found a product that works well and am passing it along.

When I got my Ultimate seats a few years ago I too was disappointed in the seat covers. I did not rip mine getting them on, but the main seat cover would not stay on, it kept slipping off from the sides. I thought it was not the proper size so Ultimate replaced it at no cost. The replacement did the same thing so I got a camping strap at Wal Mart (the kind with the plastic click- in buckle) and sewed to to the seat cover. Now I put the cover on, run the strap under the seat and buckle it, and it works great. Just don't tighten it too much or it would rip the cover.

I had the same thing happen, ripped seams and the cover never fit properly. Never got around to calling Ultimate about it, looks like it would have been a waste of time anyway.

I just received my FREE replacements for the rider and passenger seats last week. They seem to be made from a heavier material than before.

After reading Trynt's post I decided to call Ultimate despite the fact that it's been 4 years since I bought my seat. They couldn't be nicer to deal with. They're sending a new cover at no charge. You can't ask for better than that. No affiliation of course but a stand-up company deserves some public credit.
