After I rebuild the petcock, I'll be installing it on a new Interstate gas tank. What type of sealant should I use on the threads?

Also, is there any sealant needed when installing the fuel sender unit? It didn't arrive yet so I don't know what it looks like.

Thanks in advance.  Smiley

I never used any sealant on the threads when I replaced my petcock.
I imagine you could use some teflon tape, but it's really not neccessary.

No sealant. There's an o-ring.

What Daniel said.  Do NOT use sealant.  The threads will not seal. There is a little Oring that goes over the top of the intake screen, and slides all the way down to the bottom.  This provides the seal.

O-RING (14.2X1.3)

This is the Honda part #.  I assume the  14.2 X 1.3 is the size of the oring in metric.

Thanks everyone. I've never done this before so it's nice to know what to do and expect.  cooldude
