That maybe true but he can sure throw the ball, I like watching a 40 yr old kicking young butt.

I was hoping he'd come back. He's the only active player that's also a grandfather. AND, I am really looking forward to the Packers ripping him apart this season. Maybe Clay Matthews will finish what the Saints started and remove his foot completely...

Thats kinda over the top isnt it? I mean a few years ago he WAS a legend in Wisconsin. Now he is despised because he loves to play football and Green Bay didnt want him.

Not a Vikings fan but I'm glad he's back. He's fun to watch and plays with a lot of heart.

sorry bud, don't think so.....  i'm pretty sure the vikings will win.

agree with ya dave.  brett was pretty much sick of being asked every single season if he was going to retire.  the guy loves to play ball, so let him!  had the packers just let him play, and not make an issue over retireing, i'm pretty sure he would have never left.  but as for so many people hating him because he left, that gets me pretty mad, he did take the pack to the superbowl twice, doesn't that mean anything?

Al, when he retires I'll love the guy again. As long as he wears purple, he's the enemy.

And for the record, I would honestly hate to see him hurt. I do, however, really want to see the packers beat the vikings while he's QB.

I like Brett.  He's a drama queen, but he doea LOVE the game.  And he's willing to laugh at himself.  I think he'd be playing if he had to pay THEM.

Brett represents the game, his organization and the league better than anyone else.  He plays to compete, for the love of the game and he's damn good at it.  I agree.  I just wish my team had one player with his talent and desire to win.  Yeah, I'm sure the money is nice but, Brett doesn't need the money, he playes for the love of the game.  Life is full of drama, Brett is like a fresh breeze to an otherwise boring sports world.  I like him regardless of what team he plays for.

I agree, in a world of people just walking through life this guy plays a game for young people at 41 and acts like he is 25. He is the best to ever play the position based on stats, has a ring and nothing left to prove. I wish Eli ( Giant fan) had half of his love of the game.

If he wants to play, still can, and can find a team that wants him, go for it!

Other than that, yawn...  Kinda tired of the whole on again off again drama.

Hey T.P...  I am stoked that Favre is back...   I am a diehard eagles fan and I do cheer for the Vikes and will do so with the Skins (unless playing the eagles).  Childress is a darn good coach and he knows how to handle the "drama".  The dude in Green Bay didn't and lost Brett.  I was glad he signed with the Vikes after his stint in NY.

According to ESPN he had signed a 2 yr contract last year for 25 million and he would have been paid 13 million but the Vikes bumped his salary to 16.5 million.  Here I'll do the math as to how much he will make per game:

per game:  $1,031,250.00
per min:          $25,781.25
per second:          $429.69

I am a huge NFL fan but the fact that Favre is looked at as some kind of rare breed because he plays "for the love of the game", is evidence at how big salaries have killed off much of the spirit of professional football.  I am old enough to remember when all the players loved the game and played for next to nothing, money wise.   Those were the days my friends.  Maybe that is why I am starting to enjoy college games more than pro lately.

Oh, and Brett's "aw shucks, I'm just a simple country boy" conflicts with his hunger for attention...does he love football, or is his identity so tied up with what he does, that he fears he will just disappear without the game?

Sorry, the therapist part of me slips out now and again, even though I'm retired.   Roll Eyes

I don't think you took into account the fact that the defense has the field almost as much as the offence.  Doubling your dollars per second!!!

I agree whole heartedly!  College player’s play for the "scouts", pro players don't have to prove anything!
