Here was my original question:
I am not sure if this is the right place to post this question.

Is it common for a rear brake fluid reservoir to go out?
A local dealer claims ours went out and wants about $225.00 to repair it and I am skeptical about this dealer.

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

By the way this is for my wife's trike!
As it turns out we bled the rear brakes and everything seems fine. This dealers service department in the Denver area wanted to charge me $225.00 for some repairs it appears I did not need.
I sure hate business who try to take advantage of people. The crazy thing about this dealer is the parts department has gone out of there way to help me with discounts
every time I see them……
Good service is hard to find!!

Pretty rare that one would go out. In fact I'm never heard of one going out.You can get seal kits for them at any Honda dealer. Clean real good and put in the new seals, then just flush with new fluid and bleed out the air. If you do need one get it used if off ebay for around $40.00.

I believe he is trying to make a little money off you.

The problem was I did not even need these parts or service on the reservoir and if I did, they ordered every part they could to replace the whole thing which was not necessary!
The good thing is I did not allow them to do the work and I saved some money I did not need to spend!
