how do you fellas torque the lock nuts on the valve adjusters. I remember my dad's old chevy had to be a tad tight as the gap would change after tightening the lock nut. Same thing here?
thanks Chuckie

I'm sure there is a torque spec but never thought about it.
Hold the screwdriver and tighten the nut, hard. Then check clearance again. Do all twelve and button it up.

..just take the clearance out of the threads with the lock nut just past finger tight and check your lash and adjust from there then when you are  happy tighten up the nut and verify the lash and move on............

Just tighten down snug and keep the screw driver holding the adjuster so it wont turn. If it does tighten down to much loosen the adjuster nut and keep a screwdriver in the adjust put tension on the screw driver as to loosen it as you loosen the nut. Dont loosen either all the way just a little probably the amount it tightened and then retighten the nut with the tension on the screw driver loosening it so it doesn't tighten down any more. If you need to use a torque wrench to tighten the adjuster maybe you would be better seeking some help for this job. Smiley
