This morning, on my way home from work at 7:15 this guy to my left rolls through a stop sign, with his lift truck and nearly takes me out!!  I saw him with enough time to swerve to the shoulder and lay on my horn!  Not going very fast ‘cause the speed limit is 35mph on that stretch of road, but still, had he hit me I’d be looking for a new cycle and calling a lawyer, that is if I didn’t get killed…..  The guy never slowed down!!  I pulled over at the next intersection and waited for him to pass so that I could take down his company number and give them a call, but he never caught up to me.  So I turn around and see his truck parked on a side street.  I pull up next to him and ask “so, what, are you blind?!” I wasn’t really upset, just wanted to let the guy know that he almost killed a father of three, and a person that’s not a welfare dumb.  He says “I must be.”  He was sincere; he felt bad and he apologizes for not seeing me.  I couldn’t get mad at him for that, had he gotten defensive, then I would have gotten mad, but he admitted that he was in the wrong, and he was really sincerely sorry.  So, what do you do?  I just told him to start seeing motor cycles and to be more careful then left for home.  The guy was as old as me, probably just in a hurry to get to work.  Still, just gets scary out there some times……

Glad your ok  cooldude  Ive had similar things happen to me right down to them apologizing for what happened. There is really nothing you can do. Most of the time they seem more shook up than me and I look at them and want to blast them but when I see the look on their faces all I can do is leave.

Glad you made it.

Being Mad is better than being run over, so you came out on the good end of that one.

He sounds like a good person for apologizing.

Hey Alph, glad yer OK...  Seems like the drivers in WI are 'Driving with their eyes closed' (thanks Don Henley).

The 'Texting Teen' from last weekend, was the latest in a few close calls...

One day, a few years ago, I had an on coming car, turn left (in to a strip mall parking lot), right in front of me...  Had to mash the brakes, and swerve to my left, to avoid becoming a hood ornament!  When I could, I turned around, and went back to give the driver a good chewing out...

The door opens, and out gets this little oriental man, maybe 5' tall...  He's gotta be 110 years old!  He looks at me (6'2" 275), and says "I'm sorry, I didn't see you"...  Here I was all ready to go Ape Sh!t on someone, and all I could do was walk away, shaking...

Like I said the other day...  Head on a swivel, drive like yer invisable, they're all out to kill us  uglystupid2

I"m glad to hear you're OK Al.  I had an experience like that a couple years ago when Mrs. Kaz and I were riding to Chippewa Falls for a Gold Wing Rally and a farmer driving a tractor trailer literally blew a stop sign coming onto Hwy 29 and just about took us and several more out. I'd like to say it's something in the water on that side of the state but unfortunately, they do it here too.  Ya gotta stay defensive my friend.
