Any day that you ride is a good day!

Several members enjoyed a good days riding.

Hope everyone is back in the house safe and sound.

This needs to become somewhat of a regular event.

Nice shot cooldude Is that Jess's bike on the left? I need to get up and ride with you guys. My sisters live in Virginia. Last year when I visited it rained every single day I was there Sad How come his pants aren't tucked into his socks? I thought that was a trade mark?

It was a fantastic ride thru mountains, valleys, farms, deep green woods and along streams and rivers.  Ground zero was Wytheville VA.

Hubcap Mike, Highbinder Don, 3fanforlife Mark, and Jess from VA.  Four wild and crazy guys. <G>

It was an old decrepit train station, in an old decrepit town.  LOL

Tundra, where is your sis?  I'm in 22309 and live alone and can put you up if you head this far North.

Mark, just got a bit wet a couple times, until the last leg of the trip into NoVA, where it rained like the end of days; harder than I've ever ridden in.  So many cars pulled off I-66 and filled the underpasses there was no room for my bike.  Visibility was O with steamed glasses and visor.  My 8" waterproof boots filled from the top and I had to pour them out when I got home.

That really sucks!

Glad you got home safe...

Give me a shout if you want to ride sometime.

That's the old train station in Ronceverte W.Va., my "other" home town. My mother's side of the family
is from there, I spent every summer there fishing and playing on the Greenbrier River (and on the
railroad tracks  Wink )... my Grandfather was a railroad man (a carpenter) so the train station on
main street has special meaning for us...

The pants tuck is for when it is cold...

I enjoyed the ride and the company cooldude I didn't think anyone could put me on roads in this area that I hadn't rode already...but Mike put together a great route and took us down roads I hadn't rode yet along with some that I had.....we need to do this kinda ride more often....Wolf met us at Paint Bank, WV at the local general store, which has turned into a local biker meeting place...our Valks were a big hit there, with all the Harley riders that were there, it was almost like they had never seen one before....good day, good ride and no rain.... cooldude How about it Va. riders, maybe we should do a ride once a month, each month a different member picks the ride?

I appreciate your offer, If I go, I gotta stay with them or they would get upset. Unless I don't tell them Roll Eyes More time for riding. cooldude I will certainly get in touch before I go, show me your Country.

220 miles - 4 1/4 hours from me.  If you came to see them, then we could go riding too, if you have the time.   cooldude

I'm retired, I always have the time.   Cool

Don, I'd be up for some more rides, but I don't think we have all that many VA members.  Up this way is an active duty USAF major near me, and Yuri over in Winchester, and Shortleg Dave up in MD and that's all I know.   I'd be happy to run downstate again, but need a motel.

Our very first day on the Valk up on the BRP!

Lynchburg, Virginia

« Reply #11 on: August 25, 2010, 03:59:07 AM »

Good morning All,
Jess, there are a few more VA riders around! There are at least 3 of us here in the Lynchburg area that I know of. Our problem is our crazy work schedules (SP?). I know we would at least try to make some of the rides if we knew about them ahead of time.
Have a great day,

Hey Tom.  Well, I can't very well organize a ride for downstate VA riders.  If you guys down there plan a ride, let me know, and I'll almost certainly be there.

I had a crazy work schedule (and quota) too... so I quit (retired).  LOL

PS:  Two 70 degree days in VA in Aug.... WOW.
