They demolished the old plant at FPL's Cape Canaveral.  This is the one you could see directly to the south when you went over the bridge to the NASA center. I am working on the new plant design. Gonna be a big sucker. 3 brand new H class machines. Gas Turbines with Heat Recovery Steam Generators, basicaly steam generators from the exhaust of the gas turbines. These will serial numbers, 1, 2, & 3 from Siemens, One Steam turbine from Toshiba.  285 MegaWatts per H-machine.
535 MW from the steam turbine. Old Plant 560MW, new plant 1250MW with lower emmissions than the old plant.

Sounds like you've got a fun, challenging job.

Nice video, too.  I admire the skills of those that can drop something as big as building anywhere they want with explosives.

If I could learn to do that, I think I'd have a niche market in the tree trimming/removal business.  2funny

Thanks, I am an electrical designer, doing undergrounds and then will move over to do checking. It can be challenging, but it keeps things interesting. We get to do the same thing at another site when this one is done.  That plant is called Riviera, down by West Riviera beach.

My ideal job would be BLOWING STUFF UP!  I am better at tearing stuff up!
