Saw it on TV this morning. Wow! The driver is 19 I guess and in critical condition. It's a wonder how he survived at all.

Makes me wonder why the kid passed the cop car. Almost makes you think something went wrong with the Camaro, maybe "the Toyota syndrome"  Roll Eyes

Seriously, makes no sense!

Saw that on the news today....I am guessing suicide...passing a cop in the grass?  If he lives maybe we will hear the story.

He is 19...in a fast car. We have all been there...probably came up in the cop and could not slow down...looks like the impact was taken on the passenger side.
I think it is safe to say, he used up most of his 9 lives in this one.

That car went so high in the air it almost hit the overpass! The cop was very lucky not to have been rear ended, I am sure he needed a uniform cleaning after that.

Looks like he didn't even hit the brakes until he was in the air.  I think there may be more to the story.

No official info?

My guess is this is part of a high speed pursuit and the patrol car with the camera may have come in in front of the chase and was doing a blocking manuver.

There is more to the story: http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/crime/police-had-arrested-released-man-before-horrific-i-675-crash-877351.html

The kid had just been released after a drug and alcohol citation, and has a history of excessive speed.

After watching it 3-4 times, it appears to me the left side of the car caught the guard rail. That seems to be what caused it to go airborne and spin the car around....hitting the bridge rear end first. Regardless...an horrendous crash.

If s(he) had been going a little faster they might have cleared the fence on the overpass above
and made an awesome left turn and live to talk about it.... looks like someone had a death wish
