Yep ,my I.S headlights left the wife and I stranded just after dark with 70 miles of twisty two lane between us  and home. But my VRCC family didn't . Met a new friend last night. Thanks Sharkey of Steelville Mo. We will be seeing you again ! Sharkey helped me with fuse for my headlight relay and got me under way. Was a short night of sleep but I did get home . Thanks

Sorry to hear but at least you got home. That Sharkey is pretty cool. Drank a few with him at the CBR a year or two ago.

I will agree with that.  Sharkey is one of a kind.

Thanks for the kind words.
Chip, Im glad I was able to be of assistance. I would gladly help a brother anytime anywhere.
Fudgie I tied on a hell of a good one that night. And remembered a valuable lesson "Beer after wiskey pretty risky..wiskey after beer have no fear"
I had a hell of a headache the next day. Then had to peel out early, had a tree across the fence at the farm I had to get home and fix.

Fudgie & Kit , Sharkey did mention drinking something with you two. I think he mentioned some apple pucker or something fruit flavored. In a parking lot somewhere. you guys plan on on a Mo. trip early Oct  : more on that later..

I would just like to say that the title of this thread is wrong. (My fat Black girl let me down) If a fuse was the only cause of the break down. I would say that you let her down,  Carry some fuses...

This is true, I did have a few fuses with me and always carry them. Some how during the rebuild of my salvage bike (that was finished last month)the correct fuses ended up in the other bikes bags. I only had the large type with me that fit the aux. block that was added. I'm thinking about replacing all the fuses on her, some are probably 10 years old. I noticed a very slight  bit of corrosion ,on the fuse that was replaced. Any time I have been broke down I can usually kick myself in the rear for some lack of ,or poor maintenance on the cars or bikes. Darn now I'm starting to fell bad for neglecting my fat girls needs. I'll take her to town tonight for some maintenance, Dairy Queen should do.

This is the main reason I wired my spotlights up  so they could be run separate from the rest in case of a headlight problem. My headlights didn't work once after stopping for fuel  and I left the station with just the fourway flashers going and headed for home. About a mile later everything came back on, I figured a relay must have hung-up. So now I can at least get home on the spots.

I have Pia fog lights wired off my aux fuse block that were working, but not enough light for the deer population in this area. This little inconvenience was not a big deal to me ,I have certainly been in worse situation's on the road ,but 70 miles of curvy two lanes in the dark ,and of course it had to be the only ride my wife has been on in the last month ,in a (sorry Sharkey) one horse town that rolls the sidewalks up after dinner,  six hours from the time I'm supposed to meet the car pool for work . The real thought behind this post was to simply thank Sharkey for his trips back and fourth to and from his home for someone he had never meet before. This type of action is what I'm seeing more often than not from you folks. Good to be here.
