Greetings All!!! Just checking in from some time off lurking on the board as I take a well earned vacation from work and the kids with my wife Jai. For the past four days or so, we have been traveling in the south of our great country, visiting Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee and now Kentucky. Having heard the call of twistys not in our own back yard, My wife and I took the plunge and attempted to tame the Dragon. All I can say is what a wonderful road, or should I really say bunch of roads! Riding 129 indeed is all its cracked up to be, and the Skyway is also an outstanding ride. Actually, I've found all the roads down here to mostly be worth the trip and compared to the roads I'm used to in the Northeast generally as smooth as glass! I was down in the area a long time ago (1978 or so) and am now kicking myself for not coming back sooner. Along with all the good roads, I'm happy to report that Southern Hospitality is alive and well. All the people that we have run across have been great, including the young gentleman who went out of his way to show us some great drives, then took us even further along the back trails to an out of the way, very VERY local resturant where the hospitality was only exceeded by the great food. (Chrome, you would have been proud) Going to explore some of Kentucky tomorrow, and will check in when and if I ever find a Wi-Fi spot again.
