Hi All I got this note from Judith this week.As most know, her husband died on his way to Inzane this summer. The very kind folks at Inzane donated over $3,000 to the family.
Hi to all the VRCC gang. I was so touched by the donations you guys collected for me. None of you had even met either of us, although some of you guys had known Larry via the internet. It was so thoughtful.
I thought you might like to know what I decided to do with the money. I have two sons, Larry's stepsons, who just stepped right up when they heard of his accident. My younger son, Lauren, who lives in Chilliwack, flew down to Calgary to drive me home after the accident. My older son, Patrick, who lives in Winnipeg, drove out to stay with me for pretty much a month. He happens to be in school right now and was able to take time off in the summer. He actually attends seminary in Milwaukee, and has already gone back to school. So because both of them sacrificed a good bit to be with me when I really needed them, I decided to split the money between the two of them. Lauren missed a whole week of work, plus the airfare for all of them to come to the funeral came to over three thousand dollars. Both of my sons were very appreciative of the help.
Lauren will be taking the motorbike home as soon as he is able, and he plans to restore it. He will probably be asking for help from you guys. It's difficult to say how damaged the bike is; it appeared to have gone end over end, as there is damage front, back, and both sides, but mostly the damage looks to be cosmetic. It's possible the frame is bent, but no one was able to say that for sure.
I am wondering just a little about the tshirts and stuff that we had ordered. I have not as yet received those. Are you still waiting for the backordered items? I'm sure it shouldn't be that much longer. And thank you for mailing those things to me. It feels important to me, probably because it's connected to Larry, but I'm sure you understand that.
With thanks,
Judy Kientz
