Lori and I went downtown to the circle last night, as there were loads of peple in town for the Moto GP Race today. There were literally THOUSANDS of bikes there. The circle, and all 4 spokes were closed to cages, and we essentially parked FULL of MC's. I was parked next to a Custom Chopper and a real nice custom HD. Lori had never experienced the Valkyrie lure before and couldn't believe how many people ignored the chopper and the pretty HD to look over the Fat Lady. She was amazed at all the people interested in, and looking at the IS. Talking about it. Several times I heard something like... "Man that 6 cyl engine is Bad Ass!" You always like the attention. I can't go ANYWHERE without either the Interstate (NO HAWG plate) or Tourer (6 INTO 6 plate) drawing a crowd, I love it in that people will bypass every other bike in the parking lot to come see mine, but I hate it because I ride 'em so much they are usually dirty! I always say the same thing, "thanks, you should see it when it's clean!"

It was the same way Friday nite too. I only saw 3 Valks, but all had lookers all the time. Saw a sweet black bobber standard near Cladaugh's on South meridian all tricked out with green led's

Happens everywhere... Valkpilot, Yoda, and I were approaching Mt Rushmore on 29 July and stopped for some fuel treatment (long story...) at a c-store. Although the Sturgis Rally was still over a week away, there was lots of Milwaukee iron in the parking lot. Guess which bikes gathered the crowd? What a great idea - park, hide, watch, click!

Jabba, that is a very cool post. Most of us have experienced people admiring our Valks, even Harley dudes sneaking a close inspection, but I have never seen anyone sneak pics of all the admirers. Nice work!!

My problem is that the kids like to get up close and look at Willie....and now I have the Little Green Dragon too....I don't mind them looking, but I have to make sure they don't touch the pipes if I've just gotten off the bike...... These Old Gals hold their own with ANY bike when they are dressed to the Nines!!.....

Happened to me a month ago. Two buddies of mine and I rode up in front of a local restaurant. Parked and was talking before going in to eat. A really pretty lady came over to us from the outside bar/patio area, and asked me about my bike. ( 2000 std-valk ). After she walked away I was grinning ear to ear she never asked them about thier bikes...!!!! Both were HARLEYS, Duece and a wide glide. Believe me I enjoyed that moment......

It certainly does happen. My old girl was admired several times over the weekend, lots of nice looking Harleys around the bike run and gathering. I had my Valk parked near me while I was relaxing and enjoying the days entertainment. My wife kept nudging..."there's someone else looking at your bike." Even overheard one say, "now thats what I want!"
Another 700 miles trouble free this weekend. A little sunburnt, but a great weekend.

Great post Jabba. That's my experience as well, and as I've said in some of my posts, even my H-D buds gather around to look at it closer. I love my black I/S, but I've got to be honest, when I see pics of your and StanleySteamer's Green and silver two tones, I am a bit envious.

Reminds me of the time I attended a state HOG rally in Hannibal, MO a few years back. My Tourer was parked in a sea of Harleys along Main Street. As we watched from across the street, people would walk along, casually looking at bikes. Most would stop and pause when they saw my bike, several even backed up to get a closer look! A film crew was on site filming a story about Hannibal, and wanted to get some shots of the rally to show the wide appeal of the town. You guessed it! They filmed some close ups of my bike, while the narrator discussed the rally. My Brother-in-Law was visibly upset that they ignored his new, chromed out Electra Glide parked next to mine!

But I'm not a real fan of the Green ones either. I really like the Blue and silver IS's. And I even like the Red/Black ones, and I don't like ANYTHING red. I'd like to get my IS painted... and do it with the stock Green color, but with racing stripes like my blue standard has. It would be unique, but still SORT of a stock color and pattern. Jabba

I think so too... but I'd like to keep it the stock Base color. Just out of respect...
The Green IS with a Pearl Racing stripe down the whole thing... and on the bags would be SWEET IMO.

I think you're right. It would look good. You could probably photoshop something like that before you actually did the painting. But then again, be bold, be Jabba, and just do it! I'm sure it would look great!

I'd LOVE to... but I am funds limited. I should not have bought the thing to begin with... I'll keep dreaming, and sharing my dreams with my fellow Valk-hounds here on the VRCC, and live vicariously thru those of you with the spare cash-ola to execute my kick ass ideas. Jabba

Even if you won the lottery there are always more things requiring cash than what you can allow for pet projects. The real trick is to be happy with what we've got. Hard to do though, and I'm not too good at it either.

I have a BLESSED life. A great wife. Wonderful son. I am lucky to have him late in life. I just turned 42, and he's 3. A good job. A nice house that I essentially designed AND built. Not to mention two WONDERFUL motorcycles, and time to ride them. Sure... I'd LOVE 3 more. Sure, I'd LOVE to have the IS painted... But, there are a lot more important things to me. Friendship and family above all others. I count my blessings EVERY day. I REALLY do, and that's weird for a guy that's an AGNOSTIC Libertarian, who's FED up with our government. Get upi every morning, and go to bed EVERY evening counting the things that are good in your life, and you'll sleep a lot better. Jabba
