Honda ups the ante on Ride for Kids motorcycle giveaway

This news just in! Rules change for 2010 DFW Ride for Kids motorcycle drawing that should encourage 1st time and long time participants to be there on Oct 3. Here's the scoop.

At the 2010 DFW area Ride for Kids (2010 only)

- Every adult participant (who doesn't work for Honda) can get a ticket in the drawing.

- In addition, for every $300 in donations received by the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation by Sept 22, you will get an extra ticket for the drawing, so send in your registration money and donations to the PBTF early (address and directions below)

- The drawing has been expanded to include a couple of cool items in addition to the motorcycle, helmet and tire

- The motorcycle to be given away this year is worth several times what the usual giveaway bike is worth and is likely to become a collectors item in the future. It's 1/2 cruiser, 1/2 sport bike and 1/2 mega-scooter. Wait. That math can't be right. But, it does have a single sided swingarm, ABS, automatic transmission, fuel injection and gets around 45 mpg. - You may or may not love the DN01. I'm not sure I'm personally wild about it yet, but I definitely want a chance to win it and try it out. And, this isn't just about the bike you can win. That's just a bonus as you help save lives of kids with cancer.

So, whether you raise $50 and get one ticket and a t-shirt or you raise $1,000 and get a placque with the stars iof the day ad several tickets, you'll have a chance to win $15,000 worth of steel, plastic, and rubber.

So, bring your friends who want a shot at winning big and get your extra donations in to the PBTF early to get extra tickets. The donations raised online through the VRCC team page on firstgiving.com are automatically submitted to the PBTF, so whatever has been donated through there by Sept. 22nd will count towards extra drawing tickets.
