Probably unrelated but...

Cooking on the right: I invariably get much more heat on my right foot / leg than I do on the left. The IS that I ride sat for a long time and was serviced for "set'n" before I got it. Carbs, ya think?

Flatulence on the left: had an a/m exhaust installed at a shop. Now, I get major popping and backfiring upon deceleration - but only on the "cool" side. Did a search and learned that glasspacks will pop and fart; but what intrigues me is that it only happens on the left side, ever.

Haven't got a clue about carb adjustments, but if that's what it needs, I'll take it in.

Any learned opinions appreciated...

Go to Harbor Freight and get( or borrow one from a friend) the 2x.xx heat gun and check you exhaust temps.

If you've had a new exhaust system installed it may be that the exhaust header nuts need tightening. Generally they need to be snugged up a couple of times. Just go easy those buggers will snap off.

The other problem may be clogged slow jets on the cool side. Does it idle smoothly? If not a strong dose of Techron might fix you up. It's cheap enough and doesn't require wrenches and laying on your back like tightening the exhaust header will.  Wink
