I'm working on the Interstate that I bought in July and the right rear speaker does not work. I took the speaker out and the wire connection was on tight. How do I troubleshoot to see if it is a wiring problem or a bad speaker? TIA

P.S. All other speakers on the bike work fine.

Try tracing the wires to make sure you don't have a pinched or broken wire. If I am not mistaken, the speakers are dual wired, one for positive and one for ground. Make sure that speaker has a good positive connection and grounded or it will not work.

You could swap it with the left

you can also momentarily touch the leads to the speaker to a 9V battery and look for speaker deflection/movement....old trick.

Thanks, I'll try the easy stuff first. Going out to connect the right rear speaker to the left wiring to find out if it's the wiring or the speaker. If the speaker is bad, I found some Polk DB401 marine grade speakers on the internet for $49.00.      cooldude
